"Israel's Son" as written by Benjamin David Gillies and Daniel Paul Johns....
Hate is what I feel for you
And I want you to know that I want you dead
You're late for the execution
If you're not here soon, I'll kill your friend instead

All the pain I feel
Couldn't start to heal
Although I would like it to

I hate you and your apathy
You can leave, you can leave, I don't want you here
I'm playing this pantomime
But I don't see you showing any signs of fear

All the pain I feel
Couldn't start to heal
Although I would like it to

This time I'm for real
My pain can not heal
You will be dead when I'm through

Hate is what I feel for you
And I want you to know that I want you dead
You're late for the execution
If you're not here soon, I'll kill your friend instead

All the pain I feel
Couldn't start to heal
Although I would like it to

This time I'm for real
My pain can not heal
You will be dead when I'm through, through, through

Pain and execution
Put your hands in the air
Put your hands in the air
The air, yeah

I am, I am Israel's son
Israel's son I am
Put your hands in the air
Put your hands in the air

I am, I am Israel's son
Israel's son I am
Put your hands in the air
Put your hands in the air

General CommentKilling people to this song? That's absurd! I've never killed anyone to this song, nor would I ever consider it... no sir, I listen to heavier stuff when I kill people.

General CommentIf I had written this song when I was 16, I would probably get in serious trouble. These guys got a record deal. Fair? Maybe.

General CommentDaniel Johns has said basically every song on Frogstomp was inspired by t.v. He probably wrote this about some conflict in Israel he saw on tv but i think a lot of the confused emotion has to do with his own life. He was 15 and taking some shit at school when he wrote all these songs. The "apathy" bit i think he basically knicked from Kurdt like a lot of the themes on this record even if silverchair sound much more like Pearl Jam on the first record. On their second album there's a song called "Abuse Me" that reminds me of Nirvana's "Rape Me" lyrically and thematically anyway. Their third album is less hard but still way more original "Neon Ballroom."

General CommentI think this song is about hating someone so much and just wanting them dead. This song is amazing anyways. Silverchair rocks.

General Commentthis song seems to me like it is about extreme prejudice and genocide a prediction events like the holocaust will happen in the future because it is human nature to hate people different.

hate is what i feel for you and i want you to know that i want you dead:someone of a group angered at another group wishing them dead

your late for your execution if your not here soon i'll kill your friend instead:the execution of people of a group i'll kill your friend instead means that they can always find more of the group to exterminate

all the pain i feel couldn't start to heal though i would like it to: the atrocities of a holocaust don't dissapear even years after

i hate you and your apathy you can leave, you can leave, i don't want you here: the victim hating the agressor after having suffered at there hand the same style of hate being exhibited by both parties

i'm playing this pantomime but i don't see you showing signs of fear: the agressor after being persecuted by others for having done what they did and the victim feeling justified at the result

all the pain i feel couldn't start to heal though i would like it to:the atrocities in a holocaust don't dissapear even years after

this time its for real my pain cannot heal you will be dead when i'm through:the victim growing angry off the wrongs done to them and another predjudice begins in the opposite direction the previous victim wishing the previous agressor dead

pain and execution put your hands in the air: another holocaust happens (put your hands in the air a command before somone is shot execution style)

i am i am israel's son israel's son i am: a warning about how hate will lead to violence(israel's son is a reference to a future holocaust like the one of the jews in nazi germany)

put your hands in the air: people dying and being executed

General CommentIt's about wartime atrocities I think. Did anyone here about that murder in America, where a guy and his friend killed his parents and kid brother then kicked the bodies around the house whilst listening to this song?
