"Carry You Around" as written by and Ani Difranco....
How pleased can one
Sun setting make you
If you humble yourself
To it?
How grateful can you
Really say that you are
Just to be here and live
Through it?
And when beauty asks a question
How often do you reply?
How often do you wonder
About life on the other side?
On the other side of sorrow
On the other side of rage
On the other side of okay
Okay at all
In any way
Imagine what loneliness
Will drive someone to do
Now multiply that times me
And multiply that times you
Now imagine what it would take to make this all happen again
And just when you think you're gonna cry
Multiply that times ten
Are distracting me
From all other activities
And I know the fact of your presence
Will dominate my memory
Of this restaurant, this table
This day and this town
'cause I carry you baby
I carry you around

General CommentThis kindof seems like a prelude to a suicide attempt, when one has all sorts of rhoughts racing through their head and behind it all is a lame-but-reassuring voice celebrating sunsets and little pleasures of such nature

General CommentThis song is about a relationship that has fallen apart... They may not be with you physically, but you still "carry them around." I love that expression. It may be in reference to someone who has died, when she talks about "life on the other side."

General CommentA relationship has definitely ended. This song expresses the recovery process. Imagine life on the other side of those emotions, of this whole process, will everything be ok? It's so fucking lonely, but you will always be with me. I carry you around.
