Used to have home
With a room and bed
A porch and a driveway
With a big garage
But I traded it in
I kept some faith
And laid my head down every night
And it seems so far away
Remember me now 'cause things
Always change
Five long years have gone
I've done some time
Sleeping where I fall
I know I'll never be the same
I learned somethings
About the places I saw
I learned something about myself
I guess it came the hard way
Now I know what counts
I've got one prayer
It's in your confidence
I know all the places
I don't want to be everyone's
Gone there's no one just me
Remember me now 'cause things
Always change
Five long years have gone
I've done some time
Sleeping where I fall
I know I'll never be the same
Remember me next time I go away
For the first time I want to stay
I can count one hand here today
The only thing that matters to me
Anyway and it seems so far away
Remember me now 'cause things
Always change
Five long years have gone
I've done some time
Sleeping where I fall
I know I'll never be the same

If you dont understand you best just go back to listening to your STD and leave the punk scene completly. this song is the complete history and meaning of punk and if you dont understand. please save us the trouble of having you in our way and forget about being "punk".

heh, amusing stuff from the peanut gallery. i think its really funny that you look down up him/her b/c they listen to STD (sweet ass band, along w/ b-souls). you people are so caught up on the "image" of your music, that you can't stand it when other people like the same stuff too. you like the music, so why shouldn't someone else, regardless of what they listen to? i dunno... get off your high horse and help them out... btw, anti-flag130... its write, not right. if you're going to make fun of someone, at least do it intelligently. gah!

this is a good song. by a good band. saves the day is also a good band. there a lot of good 'emo' bands. it doesnt matter what stuff you listen to. you guys critisize other people for not understanding the song. yet you dont offer any explanation. what i think its about leaving home and living out on your own and how that it can change who you are. i hope that i stay who i am after i move out of my house. i however dont understand how the song title fits in with the song. why is kate great? and what does it have to do with living on your own?

i love this song...... and im pretty sure its called k8 is great because the souls used to work at a fouton place in SoHo in NYC and whenever they came back from tour k8 would let them work there and sleep there.... im pretty sure thats the story behind it... and that is why she is GREAT!

I used to be a big alcoholic and pass out where I fell and do stupid shit. But I joined the army. Ironicly for 5 years but only time will tell how much I change when I come back.

awesome song. some corrections though. it's not

"i learned 2 things about the places i saw i learned 2 things aobut myself "

    it's

"i learned some things about the places i saw i learned some things about myself"

    and

it's not "i can count on one thing here today"

    it's

"i can count on one hand here today"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
