"Prizefighter" as written by and Gavin Rossdale....
These are the days
When I fear for my life
Think that's strange
Well that's the waste of you

Sun up time now for you to run
I will always know you - You're a special one
Now I'm up on this climb, up on this climb
I won't fade away

The best if yet to come
Sad you're not around
The best is yet to come
Better get your feet on the ground

Prisoner or passenger
A free man on scavenger
I'm a prizefighter
I'm a prizefighter

Who will be there
Cover when you fall
We're all chasing something
How come you never call

The best is yet to come
Sad you're not around
The best is yet to come
Better get your feet back on the ground

Prisoner of passenger
A free man or scavenger
I'm a prizefighter
I'm a prizefighter
Prisoner of passenger
A free man or scavenger
I'm a prizefighter
I'm a prizefighter

I thought you were all beautiful
It doesn't make sense, sense, sense
I'm a prizefighter
I'm a prizefighter
I'm a prizefighter

General CommentThis is one of my favorite songs from TSOT. I think it's about choosing what you wanna do with your life, whether or not you will actually do something or just sit back and waste it away bitching about something. Sure, life gets scary sometimes but oh well. Sometimes you have to help yourself. Youre not going to be more in the world then you think you'll be. So start thinking big...

General Commenti love the word prizefighter (if thats even a word) or at least the meaning behind. I think that that word it kickass, if you think about it when your listeing to the song.

    General Commentblinkbomber-
yea, i see that.. and also... it's like he's talking to someone, maybe?:
    "Think that's strange
Well that's the waste of you"
    and
"I will always know you, you're a special one"
    and
    "Sad you're not around"
    and more.

Maybe for personal reasons i see it more as him saying to someone "I've yet to become the person that i'm going to be, and that scares me sometimes. You might not be there when i do, but i', going to be someone great"

I also think it's looking back at someone/others.the world because of this line:
"I thought you all were beautiful
It doesn't make sense, sense, sense"
; he's become better than them, now.

General CommentI think it's about someone who tried to live by the book and realized how unnatural it was for them, so they decided to live on their own terms and go with their instincts, because life isn't going to last forever and you better do what you want while you can.

Naturally, people tend to frown on this sort of thing. So this person tries to show them the way and they refuse. So they realize that they're just wasting their time trying to open their minds, and it's their loss. But it's too bad, because there's so much learning and doing and seeing to be done out there. Sure, "living off the rails" is harder, but you have to fight your way through it, and if you can do that, you're going to be an amazing person.
