"Legion" as written by Mark Shreeve, Peter Brian Harris and Richard Jon Smith....
Enveloped in a sentiment,
a sound that rushes over me.
Engage an impulse to pretend
I have a faith as pure.
Not forgetting what it means to dream.
Indulging everything.
Entertaining thoughts that I've the strength
of those I yearn to be.
Cheers and tribute greet the saviours.
Reckless thoughts survive.
Anachronistic and impulsive.

And what will happen?
Will I dream?
I am too scared to close my eyes.
For a second please hold me.
None can change in me these things that I believe.
But I don't know what happens now.
I am too scared to close my eyes.

General CommentI believe that it is about the future, about the technological advances that could occur. Such as having a robotic body, it could be a person not wondering what will happen, being afraid of this major change. if it isn't that, then it probably is just about some emotions that they have.

General CommentThis was the frist VNV Nation song I'd ever heard. It scared me, because it hit so close to home. I have a problem with nightmares sometimes. Even with that in context this song emodies so many other parts of me as well.

General CommentI have no idea what it means, but it's a very emotional song.
As a 'fan' you 'shoul' like the more optimistic songs, and this is not one of them. But I find it comforting that words are put on my unnamed feelings.
    That can't be bad.

General Commentdoubts about the future, about the beliefs and things like that. amazingly written. however, the live version is much better. Ronnan puts much more emtotion into it than on the album version.

General CommentI agree that Legion is about doubts. This is how I interpret: I've been brought up to believe in something, whether it's God or whatever. Now I'm on my deathbed, and my faith, whatever it is that I've been believing my whole life, is being tested. So, here I am dying, and I ask myself all sorts of questions: Where am I going to be when I "close my eyes" (i.e., die)? Will I go to heaven, or hell? "Will I dream?" Or will I be anywhere at all?

General CommentOne of my fave ones...lyrically as well as musically.I think there is no reason to find an"ideology"here, this is purely bout emotions. For me,a song of human thoughts of afterbeing,so many doubts and self-questions among the welt with its screams of thanatophobic analgetic attempts unable to soften a grim hum of something mysterious and mercilessly REAL.

    Hel or Valhall?
Grim are the pathways of Evighet...

General Commentthe first time i heard this song i was a junior in high school, just starting to look at colleges and really not having any idea where my life was headed. the second half especially hit home for me. just the whole idea of being a little terrified of what was coming next.

General CommentSeems like a fear of how the narrator will be judged and where he will be placed(As afterlife). Whether he has been good enough to reach a heaven(Whatever you may call it) or Hell.
