I won't stop following you
Now help me pray for
The death of everything new
Then we'll fly farther

'Cause you're my girl
And that's alright
If you sting me, I won't mind

We'll stop to rest on the moon
And we'll make a fire
I'll steal a carcass for you
Then feed off the virus

'Cause you're my girl
And that's alright
If you sting me, I won't mind
'Cause you're my girl
And that's alright
If you sting me, I won't mind

(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)

I see a red light in June
And I hear crying
You turn newborn baby blue
Now we're all the virus

You're my girl
And that's alright
If you sting me, I won't mind
'Cause you're my girl
And that's alright
If you sting me, I won't mind

(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(And now look at 'em
Look at 'em now, look at 'em, sting)
(Sting)
(Sting)
(Sting)

love this song,I love the line "we'll stop to rest on the moon and we'll make fire",is like saying how they can go to a far away cold place and warm each other with the passion they feel for each other...i dunno

He really loves this girl, the thing is is that she's becoming bad but he can't stop her from changing. She's hurting herself, and him in the process: possibly drugs or some kind of sickness relating to a bad habit, due to the RX (a prescription). But he really loves this girl and can't stop being with her. He would do anything for this girl. He would kill for this girl. And if he has to fall in love with the bad part of her to be with her he's willing to do that. But if he changes himself, then he's gonna become bad himself. And then everyone they both make contact with (a child is used here) will be effected by this negative part of the couple. And then the bad things will just spread. But he still doesn't care. He loves her that much.

This reminds me of my ex. I can't seem to get her off my mind. Everytime I was around her, she soothed me. She was kind of like a drug. I was addicted. I never wanted anyone else, just her. Though, we didn't have a kid (Last verse). I still kind of miss her. Oh well, I still love the song. The deftones have a way of calming me.

it means that he loves her so he is oblivious to the pain. that's how love is. sometimes you just get numb, then you just fuck it all up, man. like I AM NOTHING WITHOUT YOU. love=numbness it's part of that love sickness

HEROIN- " i wont stop following you" an addictive drug. "then will fly farther" getting high. "cause your my girl" the heroin. "if you sting me i wont mind" the needle. stop to rest and the moon and will make a fire'' fire and spoon. "red light in june" ambulence or fire department trying to save him from over dose. "new born baby blue" death

I think this is as close to a love song as Deftones will ever do. It's a wicked song and i think it's about being infatuated with someone at the start of a relationship, with the virus lyrics tying in with the RX, which if i'm right is a pharmacuticals firm in America.

ok easy song. oviously about chinos wife as others have said but why these lyrics....Think of a vampire, The beast the sucks life from you to live. think of wife. maybe connection there. Not caring what life she steals from you no care of what she does but more that she love you and that you will do anythign for her.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
