"A Better Place" as written by and Rory Lee Feek Rob Crosby....
Days, how many days
Do I have until
I am set free
To a better place
A place of love
A place of no tomorrows
Release me from this need I have of me
Hours, how many hours
Do I have until
I am set free
To a better place
A place of love
A place of no misery
Release me from this need I have of me
When will you believe me
When I say these things to you
No one likes a liar baby
No one at all
When will you receive me
When I say these things to you
No one likes a liar baby
No one at all
I guess I have something to look forward to
I guess I have something to look forward to
I guess I have something to look forward to
When will you believe me
When I say these things to you
No one likes a liar baby
No one at all
No one likes a liar baby
No one at all

My InterpretationI feel the song is about someone going through a difficult time in a relationship where they are going through a transition/break-up. It might be that this person wants to hang on to the relationship and feels the other person doesn't believe them, "receive" their love, or reciprocate and it's very depressing. The thing they have to look forward to is finally reaching that "better place" (if they ever get there). I just feel it's a song about someone wanting to hang on but realizing they must let go to get to a better place. "Release me from this need I have of me" is one of the most powerful lines in the song because they want to get over it but it's very hard for them to let go. I experienced everything in this song just recently.

General CommentI really think he's talking about heaven in the first part of the song. Then from the "when will you believe me...." on is from the perspective of God/Jesus.
