Only save, try to find another way
I'm taking what I gave to you again
Some new day I could understand your face
You could even hold my hand if you would like to
It came up unexpected, I had to follow through
And it's hard when you were working like you do

It was easy when you were younger
You can put it back together
It was there if you ever wanted it
But you closed the door and said goodbye for good

So this is a mistake
Try to find a better way
You were never fond of anything I said
Can we begin again?
Save it for another friend
I was happy in my life I won't pretend
Every time you were expecting to reach out and forgive this
I was hardened by the look upon your face

It was easy when you were younger
You can put it back together
It was there if you ever wanted it
But you closed the door and said goodbye for good
For good?
You were easy

This song carries significant personal meanings for me, so I will explain it from my perspective. When I first heard this, it was exactly what was going on to me at the time. I'm 23 currently, and I about a year ago I broke up with this girl that I had dated since I was 17. However, we went to different schools and she lived 150 miles away. We both started carrers. It took me 3 months to realize what I had left behind, but it was too late for what ever reason. I always used to think she loved me more, always sending me cards, and getting upset if she couldn't see me while I merely took her for granted. That's exactly what I think this song is about. It was easy when we were younger, and then we could put it back together, but I let the world tear us apart and now it's too late . I tried to get her back for months, but she would never commit (it was there if you ever wanted it). Anyday I expected her to come back, but I was disappointed everytime (Every time you were expecting to reach out and forgive this, I was hardened by the look upon your face). I wanted to start over (can we begin again?), but she "closed the door and said goodbye for good". I don't know what it is that changes people in a relatively short time from the person they would have done anything for to just another guy, but be careful when you pull the trigger on your relationship because it happens. Not everyone gets a second chance. I couldn't have written a better song to describe what happened to us in a 1,000 years. Thanks Pete.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
