"The Electric Co." as written by Daniel E Matz and Jason Mc Neely....
Somebody cry, somebody cry, somebody cry
Well, somebody try, somebody try, somebody try
Something quick
Did you look back, did you look back, don't you look back
Well, somebody cry, somebody cry, somebody cry
Well, I can't see why or what for
What for, what for?

Break it up
Boy, stupid boy
Don't sit at the table
'Till you're able to

Toy, broken toy
Shout, shout, you're inside out if you don't know

Electric co. (Electric co.)
If you don't know Electric co.
Electric co.

Red, running red
You'll play for real
The toy could feel
A hole in your head
You go in shock
You're spoon-fed

If you don't know Electric co.
If you don't know Electric co.

Break it up
Div it up

If you don't know Electric co.
If you don't know Electric co.
If you don't know Electric co.
If you don't know Electric co.

General Comment"Send In the Clowns" was written by Stephen Sondheim for a musical, but the most well-known version is by Judy Collins.

Bono's lyrics in Under A Blood Red Sky are "Why must I hide from myself, when I need a crowd? Bring on the crowd. I love the crowd."

General CommentActually, written about the Bill Cosby hosted children's show, "The Electric Co". While in a cult run by "Holy Joe", Bono and the gang were forced to watch it daily.

General CommentHey, anybody ever heard the European version of "Live at Red Rocks?" In the middle of this song, they slow down and Bono does a few lines from "Send in the Clowns, but he changes it to "send in the crowd." Any idea where I can get a copy of that. My old EP just won't work anymore.

General Commentbono still sings the "send in the clowns" line when theyve playd this on the curent (2005) tour! aswell as the "despite all my rage i am still just a rat in a cage" line from 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' by smashing pumpkins. which ties in with the psychiatric treatment idea...

General CommentIn my version (from the live album Under a blood red sky) he sings: 'I love the crowd' and something I can't hear very well in the middle.
