"The Four Horsemen" as written by and Lars Ulrich James Alan Hetfield....
By the last breath of the fourth winds blow
Better raise your ears
The sound of hooves knocks at your door
Lock up your wife and children now
It's time to wield the blade
For now you've got some company

The Horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They've come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four Horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die! Ohh yeah yeah!

You have been dying since the day you were born
You know it's all been planned
The quartet of deliverance rides
A sinner once, a sinner twice
No need for confession now
'Cause now you've got the fight of your life

The Horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They've come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four Horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die!

Time, has taken its toll on you
The lines that crack your face

Famine, your body it has torn through
Withered in every place

Pestilence, for what you've had to endure
And what you have put others through

Death, deliverance for you for sure
There is nothing you can do

So gather 'round young warriors now
And saddle up your steeds
Killing scores with demon swords
Now is the death of doers of wrong
Swing the judgment hammer down
Safely inside armor, blood, guts and sweat

The Horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They've come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four Horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die!

Ohh yeah yeah!

General CommentCould either be about the appocalypse or they could be referring to themselves - the 4 members of Metallica as the 4 horsemen conquereing all.

General CommentThis song is basically saying: The Bible is pure Rock and Roll!

    Jesus Rocks!

Churches should be playing more Metallica songs and less boring hymns.

General Commentthere seems to be a little confusion here. the 4 horsemen spoken of in Revelation 6 (in the Bible) are on the side of Jesus, as Jigokusabre stated. but i`m not sure what the heck Jigokusabre is talking about in the rest of that post. and dr.jacob, i agree, religion definitly has screwed up what was a good thing.

General CommentAnyone realize that Dave Mustaine (megadeth) wrote most of the riffing in this song? We all know the story of how they kicked him out.....If ya like this, you should hear "mechanix" by megadeth.

General CommentToo bad Jesus would be the one siding with them...

I think that it has to do with the fact that given Christian Doctrine, anyone who truley followed it would not be deserving of heaven, and that they should be struck down by the four horsemen.

General Commenti believe the number of the horsemen has nothing to do with the band. The song is simple talking about armaggedon.
