"Have You Ever" as written by Brandon Charles Boyd, Michael Aaron Einziger, Alex Katunich, Jose Anthony Pasillas Ii and Christopher E Kilmore....
To get up and walk away will be too easy
So stay and stand your ground just watch your mouth with me
On the back of every right, there's a wrong looming
So here you and I should tread assault
As these razorblades for boots will it be

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

Unabashed honesty would be ideal
But a prophet did once say, that honesty's our only word
So where do we go from here? Abandon ship now!
My problem is you made me melt and I don't want to be frozen anymore

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

Oh oh no oh no

Have you ever, have you ever tried to, I have never, I have never tried to!

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

General CommentThis is Incubus's most underrated song. This is one of their best songs, in my opinion, and it gets just about no recognition. Well, at least we don't have the danger of this song getting to be like Drive... YOU know what I mean.

General Commentyeah played over and over, but no matter what i still love drive and all their other songs...but i think this song is about his girlfriend and him, i heard they jus broke up and it jus seems like he pulls anger through this song.. i felt like he was yelling at me the first time i listened to it.

General CommentThis is about the feeling when people put you down, but they don't know how hard it is to be somebody else.

General CommentMe thinks it's about how people the members of Incubus lead a charmed life because all the do is play music, but Brandon is saying it isn't as easy as the public think it is

General CommentMaybe we should try walking in his shoes and balancing on the beam to understand what this song really means.

General Commenti really like this song, i've kinda just recently noticed how good it is. i absolutely LOVE the line "my problem is you make me melt and I don't want to be frozen anymore" (at least i think it's make not made, and i also think its "honesty's a lonely word") i think that line is about how he loves this person so he wants to be with her but she hurt him so it's a problem. or something like that. whatever this song rocks (as do all of Incubus's songs :) )

General Commenti cant believe this song only has 8 comments...come on people this is an awesome song. brandon in this song is deffinately trying to show people how much more difficult it is to be in a rock band that tours and has a tough schedule, and i think the lyrics speak for themselves. the entire cd is just amazing and i would recomend anyone that doesnt have it to go get it

General Commenti think that not enough people appreciate this song.... it's not fair.... some of the best songs never get recognized... but anyways, this is a great song as all the others on morning view are. this song has great meaning to it.
