"Someone Is Waiting" as written by and Jeff Mangum....
Someone is waiting to swallow all the halos out of you
As your face blows through my windows
Sending pieces flying all around my room

And I love you and I want to
Shoot all the super heroes from your skies

Watch them reeling from your ceiling
As their empty anger falls out from their eyes

Super heroes = people who are "better" or "more important" or that the person he loves always goes to, and are everything to the person he loves

General Commentjust thinking about the girl he loves as he's lying in bed. wishing he was the only one she wanted. not sure what the swallowing halos is about.

General Commenttwo lines are missing from these lyrics. "watch them bleeding from your ceiling/as their empty anger falls out from their eyes." i don't claim to know what i'm talking about, but it seems to me as though the writer feels that someone is going to destroy everything good in someone he loves. he wants to protect that person, and help those that would destroy her recognize their faults, which would turn their anger into tears, falling out of their eyes.

General CommentI think the imagery of a room is important here. In the first stanza, the speaker seems to be cramped to a room, as her face blows through his windows and fills the room, giving a feeling of confinement.
The second stanza refers to "superheroes from your skies" and then they are "bleeding from your ceiling" which implies that that her skies are limited to her ceiling, once again, as if her life is taking place in just one room.

General CommentDoesn't this end with him saying "all alone" or am I the only one hearing that?

General CommentI agree with pretty much everything that has been said so far. To add to it, for the intial 'someone is waiting to swallow all the halos out of you' line seems to mean that he wants to reduce the subject to his lowly and inferior postion. She is perfect, but he can't hope to be with her until he swallows all of her halos.
