you're standing off the white church, and you're pitching me three words. it yells a name falling off of, off my list of names.
crashing crashing...
those crashing lights, life is just like that, it's easy to forget. when we make plans, for the second i hit home, as the dirt black night grows close. who has painted my roses red?
and i have nothing to show for you now. and i have nothing to show for you now. i never wanted... i never wanted to play the fool for you.
crashing crashing...
the dead come out, the beautiful ones are chosen.. to dance and shout, terrified and holding on to the one and only thing they ever had. a heart thats not dead but is dying in their hands.
why don't you, you ever get tan? try and try but you just don't. burning eyes they start to bleed. how come i can't go no... sleep? (2x)
your smile grew thin as the family talked, arrived singing just a holiday song that didn't stop until you drank too much, how come i'm so out of....
and i have nothing to show for you now... i never wanted to play to the fool for you

General CommentThis song is right up there with Jimmy Eat World's "Claire," Ben Folds Five's "Evaporated," and Counting Crows' "Anna Begins"... Unreal

General Commentwell uh some of these lyrics i have no idea what they mean but i think the song is basically about 2 people that have been a couple for a long time but there's nothing new in their relationship and as much as they care about each other, the passion just isn't there anymore. it hurts them to break up but they know that's what they have to do...but hey i'm probably wrong! ;)

General Commentin my opinion this song is about vampires but with a twist. the singer fell in love and became into this wicked trance that it was as if she was a vampire. then the person moved on and the anniversary was stuck still as a vampire and still obsessed. do you know what i mean? im confusing.

General CommentOk maybe I "smoke" to much-but to me this album is a whole story about a girl and a guy......who are so right.....yet so wrong for each other....they are each others "poison"......This to me is when they realize that after all the "trying" its time to start.....and when I say start...I mean the process of "getting over each other"...

General Commentthe words yelled in the background right after:

'you're standing off the white church, and you're pitching me three words. it yells a name falling off of, off my list of names.'

    are not "crashing, crashing", it's:

"match in the gas tank, boom boom!"

it's a quote from "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."
