"Cool It Down" as written by and Lou Reed....
Somebody took the papers
And somebody's got the key
And somebody nailed the door shut
That says hey what you think that you see
But me l'm down around the corner
You know I'm lookin' for Miss Linda Lee
Because she's got the power to love me by the hour
Gives me double you L-O-V-E

Hey baby if you want it so fast
Don't you know that it ain't gonna last
Of course you know it makes no difference to me

Somebody's got the time time
Somebody's got the right
All of the other people
Tryin' to use up the night
But now me l'm out on the corner
You know I'm lookin' for Miss Linda Lee
Because she's got the power to love me by the hour
Gives me double you L-O-V-E

Ooh if you want it so fast
Don't you know honey you can get it so fast
But of course you know it makes no difference to me

Oh oh oh you'd better cool it down
You know you'd better cool it down
You know you'd better cool it down
You know you'd better cool it down

Oh hey if you want it so fast
Now lookie baby don't you want it to last
But of course you know that it makes no difference to me
Oh you'd better cool it down
You know you'd better cool it down
You know you'd better cool it down

General CommentMiss Linda Lee is definitely a prostitute. She charges by the hour and tells him to "cool" himself down, because he's got a whole hour with her that he is paying for. It's pretty literal.

General Commentkristieann87 has it right. The narrator has hooked up with a prostitute named Linda Lee (Lou always came up the greatest character names), and he's about to come pretty quickly into their session, even though he has rented her services for an hour. But, of course, it makes no difference to her, but he better cool it down if he wants it to last.

General Commenti don't think lou means we should chill on partying. "she's got the power to love me by the hour" but can you afford that long, lou? . I think this may be about hiring the services a lady of the night and getting a bit excited "hey baby if you want it so fast, don't you know that it aint gonna last"

General Commenti tend to agree wiith jackfour. i think lou is looking for a party in this song. papers is a reference to rolling papers and key could be as in kilo as in hard drugs, and now hes goin down to find a "lady of the night" on the corner and get his man on....if it lasts! ;)

General CommentAbout an Asian hooker and a client with premature ejaculation issues. Switches back and forth between their points of view. Pretty literal and obvious.
