"Bad Day" as written by and Carl William Bell....
Had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note that said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again

She spilled her coffee broke a shoelace
Smeared the lipstick on her face
Slammed the door and said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again

And she swears there's nothing wrong
I hear her playing that same old song
She puts me up and puts me on
Had a bad day again

She said I would not understand
Left a note and said I'm sorry I
I had a bad day again
No,

And she swears there's nothing wrong
I hear her playing that same old song
She puts me up and puts me on
Oh I had a bad day again

She said I would not understand
She left a note that said I'm sorry, I
I had a bad day again
She left a note that said I'm sorry, I
Had a bad day

General Commentacually ive always looked at this song a little differently. to me, its more about a man who loves a girl who is clinically depressed and little things bother her to the point where she cant handle anything (spilt her coffee broke her shoelace/smeared the lipstick on her face). the man is always expecting something from her, love, compassion, even a decent conversation, but she never gives it to him (slammed the door and said im sorry I, i had a bad day again)..(left a note...)..and he is always dissapointed (she puts me up and puts me on..and had a bad day again). she is unable to cope with her life and denies having a problem (and she swears theres nothing wrong/i hear her playin that same old song).
basically the guy gets nothing but still loves her for her, even if she is screwed up.

    okay thats just me.

General Commentit's not that he's not listening, she's keeping things bottled up inside and won't talk to him

General Commenti listened to this song about a billion times....and i think maybe she killed herself. she was acting funny for a while, pretending nothing was wrong..."she left a note and said i'm sorry, i had a bad day again." i think she had one bad day too many, and the note she left was a suicide note.

General CommentThis girl exaggerates tiny things, like the shoelace and the lipstick, but he is perfectly willing to put up with all of her crap because he loves her. Oddly romantic, but I dig it.

General CommentFirst off, I love this song. One of their bests. This song is about a girl who keeps things bottled up, and then when one tiny thing goes wrong, like spilling her coffee, or breaking a shoe lace, she breaks. She refuses to talk about whats bothering her, and becomes moody. It's obvious that this happens a lot, and he continues to put up with i t all becuase he loves her.

General CommentThis girl is royally screwed up- but he's still in love with her. He's willing to be there for her even though she's distant and over-exaggerates everything.

    Quite romantic, actually.

General CommentThe song is describing a relationship where the communication has gone bad and she feels that he doesn't listen to her anymore. It seems to say those in relationships that its worth it to try to listen and be more understanding to your signifigant other. It could save a lot of heartbreak and confusion later down the road.

General Commentjaxgrrl, it's very intersting about how you see the song. I mean, I didn't get that the first time around, but then when I read the lyrics I saw where you come from... a brilliant idea.
