"Down" as written by Carl William Bell and Brett Scallions....
I gave you everything
I gave you trust and salvation
I gave you everything that I could provide
I gave you strength to stand and you shoved me
Down

Chorus:
I know you want me to love you
But all you ever do is bring me down
Won’t you go away forever

I felt the world of pain
Brought to the water then left me dry
Took the drug from the user
Took all my strength to run then shoved me
Down

(Chorus)

It’s kinda freaky just to see you crawl
And all you can do is stare
I know you’re tripping
While I kick you to the curb
Like you kicked me

(Chorus)

General CommentI think this song was written as a kind of "Fuck you" to somebody who has betrayed the song writer. It seems to me that this person has betrayed the song writer, but wants him/her to more or less forget about it and forgive them, "I know you want me to love you, all you ever do is bring me down". Very good/ heavy song.

General CommentGuitarist - I really agree with you! This song is SO nasty when it goes from the "you shoved me...DOOOOOOWN!!!!". That part is SO rocking!

I know you want me to love you
But all you ever do is bring me down
    Won't you go away forever

That part, the chorus, is really interestingly strange. I don't think girls who ever be this mean to someone, this is more a "man" leaving or treating a woman bad instead of the way he puts it in this song. This song reminds me of physical fighting between married couples.

General CommentThis, in my opinion, is the best song on Something Like Human. It's so trashing in the verse and Brett's vocals are so awesome. Then in the chorus it's melodic. I agree with Guitarist, it's a big FUCK YOU!!!
