"Kick My Ass" as written by and Vic Chesnutt....
I'm so sorry you had to kick my ass,
You said I ruined your life,
I didn't mean to do that,

I had to untangle where we was intwined,
It was strangling me
Were you breathing so fine,

The jam I was in
When things weren't working out.
Led me to the brunt
Of your swinging bout.

I'm so sorry,
I regret everything,
What can I do
To have you take back that swing.

I'm so sorry
A scuffle ensued.
But things are much better
I guess thanks to you,

The jam I was in
When things weren't working out.
Led me to the brunt
Of your swinging bout.

I'm so sorry you had to pull my hair.
I had to take care of business,
A lot of business giving there.

General CommentThis song is one of my favorites. It's goreous. It means so much for absolutely no reason. But when I hear it. . . it sounds really . . . pure.

General CommentI interpreted an abusive relationship that the woman cannot get out of. She tried to be equal with him, but he would have none of that. And now she's sorry because he made her sorry. I like this song because it both saddens and empowers you.

General CommentSongs like this put me in mind of songs like "Never Understand" and "Taste Of Cindy" from Jesus And Mary Chain.
A well-written piece, about a bad (abusive) relationship, one which should be over, despite any regrets and things that cannot be undone or taken back.
I like Garbage, although sometimes they manage to put a sick feeling into my stomach listening to their stuff.
