The faster we're falling
We're stopping and stalling
We're running in circles again
Just as things were looking up
You said it wasn't good enough
But still we're trying one more time

Maybe we're just trying to hard
When really it's closer than it is too far

'Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
'Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
'Stead of going under

Seems like each time
I'm with you I loose my mind
Because I'm bending over backwards to relate
It's one thing to complain
But when you're driving me insane
Well then I think it's time that we took a break

Maybe we're just trying to hard
When really it's closer than it is too far

'Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
'Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
'Stead of going under
'Stead of going under
'Stead of going under

I can't sit back and wonder why
It took so long for this to die
And I hate it when you fake it
You can't hide it you might as well embrace it
So believe me it's not easy
It seems that something's telling me

I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
'Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head, instead of going under
Stead of going under

Instead of going under again
Instead of going under
'Stead of going under again
'Stead of going under again
'Stead of going under again

it's a song about relationships...they've been together for a long time so they don't want to leave each other even though they know that they've grown apart

"I love the video for this song...it's really cute! A lotta ppl make fun of me cuz i love Sum 41 and i'm considered a "prep" or whatever, but oh well. Oh ya... and I think Deryck's really cute. "

It's fucking people like you that ruin punk for the rest of us. you only like a band because they are cute or you saw their music video on fucking gay MTV. do you ever pay attention to the music or do you just buy all the front row tickets in the off chance that the band might touch you? get a fucking life.

    My Interpretation

The lyrics of "In Too Deep" by Sum 41 are about a relationship that is falling apart; they convey a sense of frustration, disappointment, and the struggle to hold on to a relationship that is failing.

The lyrics express the idea that the singer and their partner are "running in circles" and "stopping and stalling" as they try to make the relationship work.

"Just as things were looking up, you said it wasn't good enough" suggests that the singer was optimistic about the relationship, but their partner's dissatisfaction is causing the relationship to deteriorate.

The lyrics also express the idea that the singer is trying too hard to make the relationship work and that they are "in too deep" emotionally.

"Maybe we're just trying too hard / When really, it's closer than it is too far" the relationship is closer to success than they realize but they're still trying too hard.

.... what the hell, britrulz? What the fuck does Britney Spears have to do with this? Britney SUCKS by the way...

Anyways... This song's about miscommunication in a relationship, being confused, over-thinking it, and trying to move on..

I know punk music IS for everyone but i think that sometimes punks DO get pissed cos teenyboppers begin liking their music, and one of the reasons are 'they're cute!' and shit like that. It IS annoying, but I really don't care...it does annoy me to see poser teenies liking gc, blink or sum 41 together with nsync.

    this song kicks ass, btw.

i jsut get really pissed when i see or hear comments like that, i don't mind people liking punk, but it's people that like it soley because the band is "cute" or "hot" that get on my nerves.

and to add, it also pisses me off when i like a band for a long time, their single comes out, they play it on MTV, and everyone all of a sudden loves the band, but thats the only song they know. that is all. :)

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
