because it cuts so deep to see myself wishing upon melting stars
I cut the cord I finally give in...
beyond visions of wretched smiles
and the dread that they've befriended
I have seen an end to you and I
(when did "we" begin)
and a warped sense of being that I embrace must exist
and we with whole hearts yet broken words
we dream of wisdom but I yearn only for you
you will destroy me with words that you have never spoken...
I've drawn a picture of us twisted within
yet below this world I absorb life from portraits
as long as we remain abreast of one another we will never meet each other
as long as we whisper to one another we will never fully hear each other
as long as my eyelids are weighed down by desire and one dying wish
I will never know when you appear

he obviously likes this person so much but nothing is going to happen between them and he "finally gives in" and realizes that he has no chance with her and that he's wishes and desires will never come true (melting stars). He pretty much says, "well, i'm gonna try and get over you" when he says "I have seen an end to you and i" but they never began a relationship to begin with (when did we begin?) He is dying on the inside, he wants to hear her speak, but he's afraid of what she might say (you will destroy me with words that you have never spoken) He wants to be with her so bad, he starts imagining them together (i've drawn a picture of us twisted within yet below this world) He's DYING to be with her (i absorb life in portraits). But in the end, he never speaks to her, or has a relationship with her like he really wants.

Saetia will remain my favorite band of all time. When all the members scream, "When did we begin?!", I can only indulge on the emotion they've put into this song, if not their best work. Not only that but the choice of lyrics, how they are expressed, and the literate genius of all their songs.

I disagree actually, I think they should all eventually break up. Sooner or later, they will hit the point where they arnt really creating anything different or innovative anymore. See Linkin Park. I think its better they have created a few absolutely amazing songs and nothing more. Goes better with their legacy. Just my 2cents...

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
