"Bright Side Of The Road" as written by and Van Morrison....
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road
We'll be lovers once again
On the bright side of the road

Little darlin', come with me
Won't you help me share my load
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road

Into this life we're born
Baby sometimes, sometimes we don't know why
And time seems to go by so fast
In the twinkling of an eye

Let's enjoy it while we can (let's enjoy it while we can)
Won't you help me share my load (help me share my load)
From the dark end of the street
To the bright side of the road

Into this life we're born
Baby sometimes, sometimes we don't know why
And time seems to go by so fast
In the twinkling of an eye

Let's enjoy it while we can (let's enjoy it while we can)
Help me sing my song (help me sing my song)
Little darling come alone
To the bright side of the road

On the dark end of the street (on the dark end of the street)
To the bright side of the road (to the bright side of the road)
Little darling come alone
On the bright side of the road
On the dark end of the street (on the dark end of the street)
To the bright side of the road (to the bright sight of the road)
We'll be lovers once again
On the bright side of the road
Yeah, we'll be, we'll be lovers once again
On the bright side of the road

General CommentThis was the first song that really got me into Van Morrison. Very upbeat and uplifting song.

General Commentthis is the best 'sitting-on-a-friend's-front-deck,-in-the-South-Australian-sunshine-drinking-homemade-beer-and-reminiscing-of-good-times' song ever.

General CommentWOW... I can't believe that only two other people have commented on this song! It's just the most elevating song! Whenever I hear it, I spontaneously break out in dance! IT'S GREAT. :D

There is a bit of a deeper side of this song to me. I used to be depressed and this song was one of the few things that could always make me smile. I'm not a huge fan of Van Morrison, but this old song has completely won me over. (Old, considering my age!!) It's Van's best song in my book!

General CommentI was in a city the other day, and it occured to me that because of the tall buildings and the angle of the sun, during most of the day one side of the street is always bright and the other is cast in shadow. I wonder if that's what he means by the 'bright side of the road'.

    General CommentTheory 1:
The song encourages the listener to have a more positive outlook on life

    Theory 2:
The narrator is dead. He's singing to his lover, who's still alive.
Bright side of the road = Heaven
