GO!

We were just hanging on the corner, after skating for a few
We were just killing time looking for something new
Then someone came 'long with a guitar, and we just started to play
And we sang Clash songs and the songs of our lives until late into the night

That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!
That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!

We'd only been friends for a short time, but in just an hour or two
It was like we'd been friends our entire lives though
And I was so in love with you, but not sure if I should say it
But then I thought, "Yeah, I'm scared and I don't know if I should, but I'll do
it anyway!"

That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!
That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!

When all you hear is that, "you can't," or "give up," or "you're a fool"
And you're so sick of all the in crowd and trying to be cool
And still you don't, still you don't know what to do...
But in the end you do your own thing, and you tell 'em to get screwed!!!

That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!
That's youth...That's all...that's all!!! That's all...that's all!!!

all i can say is that justin's vocals on this song are so amazingly beautiful-

And I was so in love with you, but not sure if I should say it But then I thought, "Yeah, I'm scared and I don't know if I should, but I'll do it anyway!"

that part makes me think about my girlfriend and how i was so scared to tell her that i love her and how i regret not telling her before she told me...such an amazing song

If you can help it, don't grow up and become another part of the game. Any body ever heard this song at a show? Fucking rocks!!

I wish my band could ever be as good as A-F ----ALND----

im so glad someone made a song about this topic. i hate it when everybody gives me crap about being a kid. cops hate me, girls hate me, my parents hate me, peers hate me, all i have is music and music is good, especially anti-flag. this song deals with how everybody thinks kids are up to no good or are always on the brink of ruining something but they are just having fun. its youth to be afraid to say things to girls, its youth to skateboard, its youth to hang out with friends. everybody who thinks thats wrong should just 'get screwed' as A-F says. thanks A-F for making such a powerful song, well at least to me.

Nice song, the sound of Anti-Flag isn't all that, but they do have talent as a punk band. Their vision of youth is realistic as well

Scally, dude, all i have is the music too, but this music scene doesn't come alone, it comes with a lot of cool kids too, you aren't alone man! Unity exists, you just gotta go to a show to find it, bring a pad of paper by the way, i regret not doing so, i met so many cool kids i should have nabbed screen names like mad, oh well

Reminds me of being a likkle lad out messing about when it didn't matter about race, religion or colour of your skin because we were all too young to care or even realise at that extent. We were just there to play football and try to act big and grown up for the girls around. God I wish being a little kid, if you met someone you were friends within five minutes, when you grow up it takes years before you can trust someone. Brilliant song.

yeah, I love this song so much, and when you go to a show you should definately be prepared to get peoples' names/number/screen names, cause you will meet some cool people for sure. I love it when you are friends for someone with a few hours or so, but it feels like you are best friends. Youth is a great thing, and you gotta hang on to it as long as you can.

I listened to this song after having the perfect day of skating, I met some cool ass people and had lots of fun. They weren't too great at skating but they were friendly and that's all that matters! I'm stuck in a shitty skate scene, all the kids beg for attention and write pissdrunx shit everywhere. It pisses me off! But, fuck them! I have the perfect girlfriend,(11 months and still going strong, even better!) great friends, and I skate like a man. Too bad my mom's an ignorant bitch. As soon as I got home she said "I bet you didn't even lock the door you fuckin' nigger brat." :( My friends find it funny, but It's sad... OH well, because THAT'S YOUTH for ya. :)

Have a nice day guys! (every day!)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
