In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
This ain't for the best
My reputation's never been worse, so
You must like me for me
We can't make
Any promises now, can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink
Dive bar on the East Side, where you at?
Phone lights up my nightstand in the black
Come here, you can meet me in the back
Dark jeans and your Nikes, look at you
Oh damn, never seen that color blue
Just think of the fun things we could do
'Cause I like you
This ain't for the best
My reputation's never been worse, so
You must like me for me
Yeah, I want you
We can't make
Any promises now, can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you're in my head?
'Cause I know that it's delicate (delicate)
Is it cool that I said all that
Is it too soon to do this yet?
'Cause I know that it's delicate
Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it?
Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it?
Delicate
Third floor on the West Side, me and you
Handsome, you're a mansion with a view
Do the girls back home touch you like I do?
Long night, with your hands up in my hair
Echoes of your footsteps on the stairs
Stay here, honey, I don't wanna share
'Cause I like you
This ain't for the best
My reputation's never been worse, so
You must like me for me
Yeah, I want you
We can't make
Any promises now, can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink

Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it?
Delicate
Sometimes I wonder when you sleep
Are you ever dreaming of me?
Sometimes when I look into your eyes
I pretend you're mine, all the damn time
'Cause I like you
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you're in my head?

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
Joseph Kahn reunited with Swift to direct the video. In it, the pop star deals with the bells and whistles of being a celebrity, including red carpet interviews surrounded by paparazzi and an army of fans and security guards as soon as she enters her hotel. She discovers a magical note that suddenly makes her invisible and gives her the freedom to go unnoticed in crowded spaces. The pop superstar dances her way through the hotel and the rainy streets of the city before ending up at a dive bar. "Delicate" was filmed over two nights in downtown Los Angeles at the Biltmore Hotel among other landmarks. Kahn has directed all of Swift's videos for her Reputation era. Most recently, she had been jetsetting around the world with Future and Ed Sheeran in the clip for "End Game." In May, Swift will launch a world tour in support of the album with opening acts Camila Cabello and Charli XCX.
Taylor Swift's newest relationship-centric hit asks the age old question, "Do I care too much?" Classic T. Swift! It can be daunting to be the one in the relationship that cares more for the other person than they do for you because of how delicate new relationships are.
Did this song give your ninth-grade self anxiety? Yeah, mine too. Taylor keeps repeating that they can't make any promises to each other, so her and her long distance lover must be in that weird phase between friends and lovers. Not the best time for her to catch all the feels. She's very apologetic throughout the song, begging her lover to validate the emotions she feels that shes not supposed to have. It's hard to be a delicate person in a delicate relationship.
This song, honestly, is pretty terrible. The lyrics are meh and the producers were lazy. It’s as if they took an eternal sick day to create this song. That being said, Taylor’s music never lack emotional depth. There is a meaning behind every one of her songs.
This song is about liking someone but you’re fearful of your reputation wrecking your potential relationship. I feel like the chorus is about “Are you okay with all those things I said about this/that?” and “Are you okay with me liking you despite the fact that I’m infamously known to break hearts faster than I stole them?” Using the term delicate describes how truly fragile relationships are. You have to be careful about these kinds of things.
The second verse is what could be. She talks about how she can compare with past lovers, and how when she’s alone with him she wishes they were in a relationship of sorts. Jealousy is a very strong emotion, and Taylor gets jealous that he could have potential lovers she’s not aware of.
Lastly, (my favorite part actually) the third verse, “Sometimes I wonder when you sleep are you dreaming of me/Sometimes when I look into your eyes I pretend you’re mine all the damn time” is Taylor wondering if her crush feels the same, and how every time she glances to him she wishes he was her’s.
Like I said, the song together is meh. But the meaning behind the lyrics is something someone like me (who unfortunately has a really bad reputation) can hopelessly relate to, especially with a deep crush.
This song is about psychic sex. Confused people think psychic sex is part of "loving others," but they forget the part about loving God (the final 2 commandments), which means the secret things are reserved for God (Deuteronomy). The Law wasn't erased by Christ, it was fulfilled by Christ, which means loving God still stands. That means to wake people up you are supposed to preach the gospel of Christ instead of tricking people into physic sex in the name of love. At least Kay Perry tells you she knows she is having physic sex with aliens (aka demons). In the Bible Satan is described as the author of confusion -- which is why he brings a false light instead of preaching the light of Christ. It's not worth losing your soul over psychic sex, but Taylor makes money whenever we talk about it online in the game she plays,
