[Homeboy Sandman]
Yo, I been watching the playoffs, (yeah)
Papa John's commercials
Papa John's is looking pretty good, man
Dominos is even lookin okay, on TV

[Aesop Rock]
It looks better than the game

[Homeboy Sandman]
They got the Buger King, the Bacon King, yo
Shit got fourty one pieces of bacon on that

[Aesop Rock]
Not enough

[Homeboy Sandman]
It's a gone insane thing, you wouldn't understand
I never stay the same long enough to build my brand
Turned on the radio to listen to a little rap
All that seemed to play was 'Mary Had a Little Lamb'

Got a budget, went on Instagram to post some ads
Something bout seeing that 'Sponsored' just felt super wack
So now the budget's sitting there collecting dust
If anybody's got ideas, feel free to interrupt

Yo, I'm nervous that I've said too much
Involvement with my promo budget ruins my mystique
Something like that shouldn't matter 'cause my shit is tough
But unfortunately most of y'all are fuckin' dweebs

I think this site reviewed my record off the snippets
It figures that on Twitter that's the one that captures interest
I swear these sites will give a job to any doofus
Dont need to say they name, cats is fuckin' useless

[Hook: Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman]
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat

[Aesop Rock]
Clan leaders, sit around canned peaches
Divas who never scanned off-brand Cheez-Its
Lost lambs in a sea of pleasant facial features
Hope you also plan to celebrate the rejects

Even though I know to never let a heckler penetrate the defense
I'm aware there's entertainment in the weakness
I also know I'm fortunate to even be allowed the inconvenience
So don't mistake the floundering for doubting of allegiance

He can doubt his own resilience in the hour of screaming Vizslas(?)
Who distract him from the bounty on his demons
Even if I'm Shakespeare on paper, in person I'm Beavis
Homie they don't make a Jesus that fits into what he preaches

Or walk how he do
Wait 'til it's dark, and walk out the zoo
Halfway to 'who the fuck knows?' by two
Giving you the broke-winged crows' eye view

[Hook: Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman]
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat

[Homeboy Sandman]
If I knew for a fact tomorrow I would die
I'd eat burgers and fries and pepperoni pies
I still might die tomorrow but don't know
But wanna be lean, so eatin' apples like a mofo

Yo, then I'm doin' it again
The problem ain't the dyin', it's just the not knowin' when
With everybody bein' in debts(?)
Wouldn't be surprised if bein' dead'd be a ten

[Aesop Rock]
Ey, somedays I forget to not get stoned before my therapy
Doctor said it wasn't fatal, mostly just embarassing
Meh, talk about trials of the errant
Every second at the pen is like a fire to the penant

Every breath is alive with a dying message
Letter to the editor inscribed in his weapon
I ain't buyin' what they sellin'
Just might climb into the vellum, tell 'em

[Hook: Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman]
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
I wanna eat pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat
Pizza and burgers all day but I'd get fat

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
