If I asked you to come with me
Tell me, would you say no?
I'm not certain what you're thinking,
Would you stay or go?

I want you to follow me;
We'll do as we please.
The world will be ours to roam.

Fly so high up to the sky
That we could touch the stars.
Twinkle, twinkle like a diamond
My wish will be yours.

And from the desert to the ocean,
I will call your name.
Arctic to Equator,
Then, it will be the same.

And when we're tired of the adventure,
Then we'll just stay home.
It doesn't matter what we're doing,
I will never leave you alone.

Call me over to where you are,
I'll never leave your side.
I'm very simple to please,
Just don't tell me lies.

And through the window,
Painting pictures of my fairy tale.
Light gets dimmer, light grows darker,
I will fare thee well.

The world will be ours to roam.
The world will be ours to roam.
The world will be ours to roam;
The world will be ours to roam.

    My InterpretationThe singer is asking whether her love will follow her on her life's adventure.
    In the second verse, there are two motifs: the literal translation is saying that they will fly together, across the planet, and it will be a joy to call her love's name, no matter where (or what language is spoken where) they are. The more artistic (figurative) translation could be speaking of the great excitement of the adventures they are having.
    In the third verse, she sings of having an adventure at home, job, kids, etc., as long as she's with her love.
    In the fourth verse, she sings of the end of her days, going on the greatest adventure (dying).
