Stranger to stranger
If we met for the first time
This time
Could you imagine us
Falling in love again
Words and melody
So the old story goes
Fall from summer trees
When the wind blows

I can't wait to see you walk across my doorway
I cannot be held accountable for the things I do or say

I'm just jittery
I'm just jittery
It's just a way of dealing with my joy
It's just a way of dealing with my joy
It's just a way of dealing with my joy
It's just a way of dealing

Words and melodies
Easy harmony
Old-time remedies

All in good time
Although most of the time
It's just hard working
The same piece of clay
Day after day
Year after year
Certain melodies tear your heart apart
Reconstruction is a lonesome art

But I love to watch you walk across my doorway
I cannot be held accountable for the things I do or say

I'm just jittery
I'm just jittery
It's just a way of dealing with my joy
It's just a way of dealing with my joy
Just a way of dealing with my joy

Words and melody
Stranger to stranger
If we met for the first time
This time
Could you imagine us
Falling in love again

Still believing
That love endures
All the carnage
And the useless detours

Oh I love you, I love you, I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you,
I love you, love you, love you ...

Words and melody
Easy harmony
Words and melody

IMO Paul Simon is doing here a hugh job. This is a very personal Paul Simon song like he also did towards his former wifes he loved.

I am recalling Carrie Fisher: about this relationship Paul Simon widmed several songs. The most important songs are "Hearts and Bones" and "Graceland'.

Paul Simon married three times. The last time he married with the female musican Edie Brickel who is coming from Dallas TX USA. He is still married with her and together they have three children.

I guess this song is a little bit a hard to understand song for younger people than I am being on an age of 67 years old.

When you`ve reached this age you have a different look about what love is than when you are/were in your teens; twenties and thirties and so on.

Today this one is really one of my all favorites songs. Reason: the open-mind declaration of LOVE to his wife Edie Brickell. I did not hear any artist doing so in this way.

Explaining your love (again) and how difficult it - sometimes is - working on your marriage and/or other kind of adult relationships for maintaining it.

This song is such a vulnerable song when you see Paul Simon performing this song on stage. Paul Simon knows and understands what love is to be.

Fortunately. Kind regards from the Netherlands Europe

I am not an #American: just 'a woman'.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
