[Chorus]
Big baby D.R.A.M. I'm from Hampton baby
And I'm never around there
So I might sound crazy when you hit me up
All about my cakes and not coming through is nothing new
Oh this is something to do nah ok then
Big baby D.R.A.M. I'm from Hampton baby
And I made my way out I might sound crazy
How In Malibu I had a studio session
With this bearded dude named Ricky Rube
I bet you met him too ok then

[Verse 1]
They threw my mattress out
Where do they stay
They fluffed their pillow up
And begin to lay
Then they would close their eyes
And pull over the sheets and on the subject to me
And slowly went to sleep
Big baby D.R.A.M. I'm from Hampton baby
And my family still there some looking at me crazy
Because some of them they ask me how my day job
Is coming along and they say songs won't work it off
Ok then they know They really know
They couldn't figure Now they treat me different
The same Hampton nigga Big baby drama from him turn baby
Where the chip on my shoulder that’s been trying to outweigh me
It's a heavy shit trying to keep a level head with steadiness
Giving you no reason for forgetting this ok then we
Change hand this ain't for the better
Women weeding weather I want to cut a joint with Kendric
But it must be special I step into places all dredded like
He must be ghetto these racist faces looking
Looking at me don't mind I’m fucking settled
If you don't come back on the temples of my shoulders
Any minute niggers might tip over and then it’s over
I go over shit and spending time with all my niggers
And my team some are bogus some just want
Some are colour blind it's only green
I use to see red like it was blood in my eyes
Bad bitches blow the dust out my eye
And then some rubbing their thighs
Think of yours that was off limit or not
Or you turned on because your boy winning
Tough loss coast to coast with it like curve ball
Give me four weeks then I'm splurging ball
High school reunion and I'm foreign thats ball
Small fraction of the cash I got from touring
Very important all in I can't forget where I’m from
I'm a Hampton nigga I'm a Hampton nigga
I said all in all I can’t forget where I’m from
I'm a Hampton nigga I'm a Hampton nigga
I'm a Hampton nigga I'm a Hampton nigga
I'm gone

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
