I know there's no form
And no labels to put on
To this thing we keep
And dip into when we need
And I don't have the right
To ask where you go at night
But the waves hit my head
To think someone's in your bed

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

And the lights, they glow
Like I just lost the World War
And the scene slips away
To the evenness I fake
It's a cheat somewhere
'Cause I don't really want you, girl
But you can't be free
'Cause I'm selfish, I'm obscene

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself
I wanna make up my mind
But I don't know myself
No I don't know myself

I get a little bit Genghis Khan
I don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me
I get a little bit Genghis Khan
Don't want you to get it on
With nobody else but me
With nobody else but me

    My Interpretation

It's about how a "friends with benefits",kinda relationship becomes more to the guy. He gets jealous of where she goes, who she's spending time with,it makes him get a little bit,"Genghis Khan". In reference to the Mongol hordes that subjugated all of Asia and reached to eastern Europe. He acknowledges that his possessiveness is unfair, but he's going to be that way anyway. Great song. :)

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
