Oh
Oh oh oh, hey

It's a little dirty how the whole thing started
I don't even really know what you intended
Thought that you were cute and you could make me jealous
Poured it down, so I poured it down
Next thing that I know I'm in the hotel with you
You were talking deep like it was mad love to you
You wanted my heart but I just liked your tattoos
Poured it down, so I poured it down

And now I don't understand it
You don't mess with love, you mess with the truth
And I know I shouldn't say it
But my heart don't understand

Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind (but my heart don't understand)
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh

I always hear, always hear them talking
Talking 'bout a girl, 'bout a girl with my name
Saying that I hurt you but I still don't get it
You didn't love me, no, not really
Wait, I could have really liked you
I'll bet, I'll bet that's why I keep on thinking 'bout you
It's a shame (shame), you said I was good
So I poured it down, so I poured it down

And now I don't understand it
You don't mess with love, you mess with the truth
And I know I shouldn't say it
But my heart don't understand

Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind
Why I got you on my mind (but my heart don't understand)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind

You got yourself in a dangerous zone
'Cause we both have the fear, fear of being alone

And I still don't understand it
You don't mess with love, you mess with the truth
And my heart don't understand it, understand it, understand it

Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (but my heart don't understand)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
Why I got you on my mind (but my heart don't understand)
Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)
You think you know somebody (why I got you on my mind)
You think you know somebody
Ah ah ah ah oh ah

    My Interpretation

To me, I believe she's singing about a relationship with a girl she's known, probably a friend. The singer never thought of herself as a lesbian and is confused as to why she keeps thinking about the girl who also probably isn't out as gay. The relationship probably started at a bar one night when the singer was drunk, hence "It's a little blurry how the whole thing started" and "Poured it down, so I poured it down." They end up going to a hotel and the singer is too drunk to care. However, the other girl is really interested in the singer ("You were talking deep like it was mad love to you"), but the singer is not really interested in a relationship ("You wanted my heart but I just liked your tattoos"). Either way, the girls have a fling with the singer just passing it off as an experiment, and when they wake up in the morning, the singer doesn't want any type of relationship, though the other girl does. The next verse goes into explaining that the other girl feels hurt by the singer's rejection, but the singer claims the other girl didn't love her anyway. (*Note: The true lyrics are "Talking 'bout a girl, 'bout a girl with my name" not "with money.") In the pause after "Wait," the singer admits that she could actually have feelings for the girl, even though she had never thought about liking a girl before, but "It's a shame" because the singer doesn't understand her feelings and feels the girl took advantage of her. The part about "You think you know somebody" is referring not only to her once-friendship ruined by a confusing one-night stand but also about herself and questioning her sexuality. The rest is pretty straightforward.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
