Lips that taste of tears, they said,
Are the best for kissing.

Can you push the clouds away?
Sun that is missing.

Try it now. I'll show you how
Love can make you breath.

Come against me, you will see:
No match for threnody.

Bet you have more in that face.
It's all that we need.

Darker than I've ever known
Trying to cross your sea.

Intimate, feels so right
Never understand.

Come against me. It will be
No match for threnody.

Just like threnody.
Just like threnody.
Just like threnody.
Just like threnody.

Lips that taste of tears, they say,
Are the best for kissing.

Lips that taste of tears, they say,
Are the best for kissing.

Lips that taste of tears, they say,
Are the best for kissing.

Lips that taste of tears, they say,
Are the best for kissing...

Song FactThis song pretty clearly drew inspiration from Dorothy Parker's poem of the same name. The refrain "Lips that taste of tears, they say, are the best for kissing" is taken directly from Parker's poem.

This song also seems to use a similar rhythm and rhyme scheme to the poem, to the extent that you can sing the poem using the song's tune.

    Kind of an interesting tribute.
