Kiss me, I'm drunk
And I think that I love you baby
Kiss me, I'm drunk
And hold my hand
If you're scared or concerned for your health
Just pretend that I'm someone else

Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk

I'll love you 'til my dying days
Or until they kick us out of this place
I'll be your oyster if you be my pearl
Come on not a care in the world
For a boy or a girl

Kiss me, I'm drunk
Can I take just a piece of your time
Kiss me, I'm drunk
Let me be your man
I've got a plan for us honey
If you think you can loan me the money

Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me I'm drunk

Come on let's get out of this place
I've got a room mate but he just bought a case
Won't let my love for you be unsung
Remember the time we were young
When a tongue was a tongue

I'll love you 'til my dying days
Or at least until my memory fades
Imagine that we're lovers enthralled
When I've got you pinned to the wall
In the last bathroom stall

Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk

Baby I'm alive but I'm not awake
Baby I'm alive but I'm not okay
I'm alive but I'm not awake
Baby I'm alive but I'm not okay

Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm drunk
Kiss me, I'm
Kiss me I'm drunk

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
