"Trouble" as written by and Daniel Wayne Sermon Dan Reynolds....
Oh quiet down, I've had enough
I guess it’s now or never
I've been around, I've settled up
I’ll bolt soon or later

I took a photograph of me
When I was only nineteen
I looked a little lost at sea
I keep trying to find me

So pray for me brother
I need redemption
I'm just a man
A man on a mission
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
Pray for me sister
Give me a mention
I got no faith
And oh did I mention
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble

Oh pack it up and hit the road
And only take my lighter
I've seen glitz, I've seen the glam
But I prefer the pay dirt

I took a photograph of me
When I was only nineteen
I looked a little lost at sea
I keep trying to find me

So pray for me brother
I need redemption
I'm just a man
A man on a mission
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
Pray for me sister
Give me a mention
I got no faith
And oh did I mention
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble

Maybe you could save my soul
Of all the things that I don’t know
Maybe you could save my soul
Of all the things that I don’t know

So pray for me brother
I need redemption
I'm just a man
A man on a mission
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
Pray for me sister
Give me a mention
I got no faith
And oh did I mention
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble
I want no trouble

My InterpretationTo me this is about the youthful mind. About how a young man who wants freedom and a chance for independence but really is inexperienced and will struggle alone without the support of his family and friends around him.

General CommentThe lead singer of the band is a member of the LDS church. When men in the church are 19, they serve missions for the church. This song is about his experiences from his mission. Men in the church serve at the age of 19. "I took a photograph of me When I was only nineteen." "I'm just a man
    A man on a mission."

My InterpretationThis sounds like it's a song about a lack of confidence and focus can lead to huge missed opportunities. In this instance, he runs across someone he could save, but he's just scared and anxious, and he misses the opportunity. Ironically he's asking for people to pray for him. The beginning of the song shows he wasn't there for the right reasons as well. This is probably easier to understand if you are familiar with Mormon culture.

My InterpretationSeems to me like this song is about a traveler who goes back to his church and maybe is confronted by other people to believe ("I've had enough") or maybe want him to leave ("Ill bolt soon or later"). Seems like he shows this photograph to maybe share an anecdote with a fellow native of the church or town (Not sure why)... He asks for a brother and sister of the church to pray for him, because, maybe he's just stopping by and doesn't want to be confronted or harassed by the natives of the church about his traveling or lack of faith...

My Opinionmost of the band members are Mormon, which is a religion. when boys are 19, they can choose to go on a mission ( "I'm just a man A man on a mission." )
and preach our gospel. you get a photograph taken of yourself, hence "I took a photograph of me When I was only nineteen." and he's telling his family to pray for him.

General CommentJust adding to the other comments: I think he's saying "I want no trouble" in reference that he knows some mission trips can be dangerous (depending on where you're going,) and doesn't want any trouble or anyone to get hurt.
