"The Apocalypse Express" as written by and Judee Sill....
Here it comes
It's hissing and shaking
The front door is quaking like its gonna go down
Steaming in it's keeping me waiting
Grapling and aching from deep underground
Drive engineer drive
Make your aura rhythm resound
Roaring turbines making my ear drums pound
How are they gonna hold you?
Are you burning up the ground?
Oooo
Take heart, take heart, don't back down when the big train comes
Hang on hang on, rest assured and be firm
Get on
Hold on
Hold on have no fear like a rock
Be strong
Jump on the tracks- stop that train
and get on
Here it comes with dynamos churning
Love steady burning and knowing no rest
Savage shield is twisting and turning
Stringing a sermon of smoldering stress
Drive engineer drive
Stir and sear every breast
Stoke the fiery furnace and spur the flesh
'til every hearts ablaze on the apocalypse express
Take heart, take heart, don't back down when the big train comes
Hang on hang on, rest assured and be firm
Get on
Hold on
Hold on have no fear like a rock
Be strong
Jump on the tracks- stop that train
and get on
Here we come

General CommentOk so Ive been listening to this one for a while, tryna get em down. this submission was my first stab.

I don't know if this song is important for anyone else, but for some reason I felt very compelled when i couldn't find lyrics for this tune anywhere on the web, being a Judee fan but not owning Dreams Come True.

Always seemed to me to be a very straight forward but powerful lyric about a train that is the apocalypse and driven by none other than the Lord himself, using people and their souls for fuel in the incinerator. pretty fucking awesome if you ask me...

my newest thoughts: the bit about the "dog", i'm not so sure anymore. could it be "dole" like their taking their lives, destinies what have you to the apocalypse express.
and the parts about "half full and aching" and "one engine burning" are both total guesses, she's mumbling something there...
