Only one truth feels real tonight. It's a dark truth; a truth that holds hearts heavy and burdens souls to their depths. One truth that never leaves: we're all lonely beings. We search for meaning in plain passing moments. We try to fill the void with people; but quickly find that loneliness doesn't tame with quantity.

Our story begins with young Nicholson. He's aged just 28 years, but the blues in his eyes begs you to stay and take a deeper look into his dejection. Nicholson has found himself, once again, amidst strangers while riding the metro through his moonlit city as music fills his ears, conjuring up images of more blissful seasons of life. Scenes of his previous happiness flicker through his mind with every passing stop on his train.

The elderly lady 2 seats ahead of him peacefully sleeping, the children behind him playing with model cars, the couple in love expressing their affection for each other; they all are present in their own realities. Nicholson ponders the juxtaposition of this moment as he feels at one with these people since they are all journeying together, but has no other reason to care for the other travelers.

His heart feels much too tight within the walls of his chest, such fear should not be nearly so familiar to such a young man. Not many are able to detect the source of his sadness. The moon emerges from the cloudy sky his eyes and shadows fall upon his face as he watches the world pass by his window. Nicholson thrives on the night. It's his reality. His truth.
