There's no hate
There's no love
Only dark skies that hang above
I call your name as I walk alone
Send a signal to guide me home

Light the night up, you're my dark star
And now you're falling away

But I found in you what was lost in me
In a world so cold and empty
I could lie awake just to watch you breathe
In the dead of night, you went dark on me

You're the cause
The antidote
The sinking ship that I could not let go
You led my way then disappeared
How could you just walk away and leave me here?

Light the night up, you're my dark star
And now you're falling away

But I found in you what was lost in me
In a world so cold and empty
I could lie awake just to watch you breathe
In the dead of night, you went dark on me

Blinded, I can't do this on my own
You are all I've got to guide me home

I could lie awake just to watch you breathe
In the dead of night, you went dark on me

Dark on me, dark on me
Dark on me, dark on me
Dark on me

I could lie awake just to watch you breathe
In the dead of night, you went dark on me

"With the growth and development of these giant eyes
The exploration of space has swept outwards in great waves
Today we explore with a telescope of 100 inches
It has the light gathering power of more than 200,000 human eyes
We observe a volume of space so vast
That it may be a fair sample of the universe itself
The explorations fall into three phases
The first phase led long ago to a picture
Of the solar system, the Sun with its family of planets
Including the earth, isolated and lonely in space"

1 We never hated each other, but now you're gone and so is the love. 2 Now there's a cloud of grief above, following me around. 3 I need you now that I'm alone. 4 You left me behind and I need you again. 5 (My) best guess is that Dustin means this as a metaphor. Dark stars are objects (possibly stars, they don;t know) that give off little light, so even the slightest presence of them "lit my night up".
6 The light you gave off is dimming; or, in literal terms, there isn't even a slightest presence anymore

7 You brought out a part of me that I thought was gone forever. 8 I was feeling lost and alone before you came to save me. 9 I feel secure enough just staring at you, knowing that you're here and alive 10 Out of no where, you left me.

11 The fact that you're gone is the reason for why I'm in pain, and the antidote ____is your presence once again. 12 You (a ship) are leaving my life (sinking) but I can't let go of the idea of you. 13 You guided me and instantly vanished 14 self explanatory

    15 (see 5) 16 (see 6)

    17 (see 7) 18 (see 8) 19 (see 9) 20 (see 10)

21 I might as well be blind without you. I can't do a thing without your help. 22 You were all I had in this world.

    23 (see 5) 24 (see 6) 25 26

    27 (see 9) 28 (see 10)

Overall, I'm not exactly sure what the story is, but I think it's either about suddenly being dumped by someone who you thought it was going great with, or it's about losing someone to death (where it says "I could lie awake just to watch you breathe, that could mean that, at this point, just knowing that they're not dead is comfort enough) ("sinking ship" and "dark star" could both mean that death was slowly approaching and life was fading). Either way, it's about losing the only one that really mattered to you.

(note: I copied and pasted the lyrics and I'm too lazy to review, so I apologize if I missed a correction)

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
