"The Other Side" as written by and Michael Hanmer Sara Taylor....
Let me show you the way through the water
You don't have to explain yourself
Turn your face to the stars
I see you smiling

In summer I drowned you
In winter I found you
As the world falls apart around me
The serpent is dreaming
I don't know this feeling
As we break through the other side

Walking north I can hide for a season
Are you here in the dark with me?
With your voice in the stars
I hear you crying

In summer I drowned you
In winter I found you
As the world falls apart around me
The serpent is dreaming
I don't know this feeling
As we break through the other side

In summer I drowned you
In winter I found you
As the world falls apart around me
The serpent is dreaming
I don't know this feeling
As we break through the other side

My InterpretationIt sounds like shes singing from both her perspective and the perspective of the part of her that embraces her struggles and spirituality.

"Let me show you the way through the water,
you dont have to explain yourself,
turn our face to the stars,
    i see you smiling".

Thats her spiritual/connected side telling her she can embrace her feelings and doesnt have to explain them or analyse them, they can just be. Her connected side must be more connected to nature, as chibi's actual self (or whichever TMB member wrote this) feels in touch with her spiritual side when she looking at the stars, feeling happier.

    "in summer I drowned you
    In winter I found you
As the world falls apart around me"

This is the 'real' chibi tlking, and It seems like Chibi wants to be more in touch with her spiritual/connected side in summer, but in winter she pushes it away, falls into depression maybe. Cold seasons often do that to people.

    "The serpent is dreaming
    I don't know this feeling
As we break through the other side"

Serpents represent evil usually, or sin/desires. So if the serpent is dreaming, it might mean its alseep and Chibi feels no desires, and wants to feel more pure and connected. She isnt familiar with feeling so connected and in synch with everything in her life. Breaking through the other side could mean death, or it could mean the other dimension, so breaking through and seeing the truth?

"Walking north I can hide for a season
Are you here in the dark with me?
With your voice in the stars
    I hear you crying"

North in the northern hemisphere is colder, so walking north means winter climate, where she can hide in the darkness (in sorrow, anxiety, depression) for a season (all through winter). Shes asking her higher self if she is there with her through all the bad times. When she looks at the stars, she connects with her higher self more, she can hear her in the stars (maybe not literally but it could just be symbolism). The "I hear you crying" could mean that even her spiritual side is not at its best in winter, or maybe she means only herself is crying, and her spiritual side is watching over.

My InterpretationOf course I don't know the actual song meanimg but it could be taken quite literally. Which is quite dark.

"Let me show you the way through the water
You don't have to explain yourself
Turn your face to the stars
    I see you smiling"

Shows a girl a lake most likely her friend, the girl floats on her back starts to talk to her and smiles.

    "In summer I drowned you
    In winter I found you
As the world falls apart around me
    The serpent is dreaming
    I don't know this feeling
As we break through the other side"

She literally drowns the girl. She starts to feel the guilt of wrong for what she did bu the "serpent is sleeping" which means she shakes off any real responsiblity of recognition of the sin or evil of what she has done. She sees the spirit of the girl she killed which makes her want to kill herself and "break through the other side".

"Walking north I can hide for a season
Are you here in the dark with me?
With your voice in the stars
    I hear you crying"

Walking norh I can hide for a season, which means she left where she was so if the polics figure out it was her they would have to find her first and so she is also hiding from the police. Only in that town or state or city for a season though then she will have to move on. She asks if the girl which she killed is thers with her. She hears the pain and crying of the girl. The girl she killed.
