"Makes You Feel" as written by and James Wirrick Sylvester James....
I been out in the desert
and I been down in the city too
And everywhere I went I saw a terrible truth

I went lookin for my brother,
I couldn't recognise him at first
He'd aged far beyond his years
to prove that drinkin is a curse

It makes you feel
It makes you feel like you've been somehow had
And all your times been wasted
And you'll never have
Your youth again all that's been taken

This woman here before me was once
a beauty so fine and fair
But she burned away her flower
in fights and booze and tears
And we've used up all our chances
chasin' stars on a one way street
and now our hands are empty
and none of us can speak

It makes you feel
It makes you feel like you've been somehow had
And all your times been wasted
And you'll never have
Your youth again all that's been taken

Well I'm headin back to the dessert
straight for the settin sun
And I have more days behind me now,
more days than I have to come
I don't know if I'll get there
or find anything I can keep
I just hope I can recover
some of the sleep that I have missed

It makes you feel
It makes you feel like you've been somehow had
And all your times been wasted
And you'll never have
Your youth again all that's been taken

My OpinionThis is my favourite anti-alcohol song from the Warumpis. It has such a simple, yet potent, warning about the consequences of alcoholism.

Also, 'dessert' is how it is spelt in the booklet on the album. I assume that it's a typo, but I decided to transcribe the booklet verbatim and opted not to correct what I thought were errors.
