Evil shadows they are falling
And the misty-eyed are calling
To a god so far
People, troubled times are coming
Still you wonder why I'm running
I will take no part

I know it was you this time
I know it was you this time (evil)
I've seen it with my own two eyes
You lie, you lie

Unholy so vile
How can you justify a lie?
One more sacred alibi
Concealing your crimes
Until the end of time
Oh why
It's you that should be crucified

Echoes of your true intentions
Well I guess you failed to mention
What was in your heart
Now I say it all so clearly
What you did to them has nearly
Torn us all apart

I know it was you this time
I know it was you this time (evil)
Took them like a sacrifice
You lie, you lie

Unholy so vile
How can you justify a lie?
One more sacred alibi
Concealing your crimes
Until the end of time
Oh why
It's you that should be crucified

You say, on your knees that you don't believe now
Don't question a thing at all
Just receive what you're meant to see
Now fall
On your knees

Evil shadow they are falling
And the misty-eyed are calling
You will break their heart

Unholy so vile
How can you justify a lie?
One more sacred alibi
Concealing your crimes
Until the end of time
Oh why
It's you that should be crucified

The broken how they cry
They only gave you heart and mind
How can you justify?
They loved you
Now father don't deny
You took them like a sacrifice
We finally know the truth about you
Oh yeah

You're unholy
So vile
How can you justify?
Oh my, how they loved you
Oh yeah
Concealing your crimes
But now they'll see this time
The blind will deny you

    General Comment

Great track. Pretty heavy. Around the 4:40 should have gone with an epic solo. A bit repetitive in the end.

    My Interpretation

I am pretty sure it's about child molestation. In the beginning you can hear children's laughter.

"Unholy, so vile ... One more sacred alibi ... It’s you that should be crucified"

A priest/pastor does inappropriate things with children. People have trusted them because they have a sacred alibi (priest). Jesus died for our sins, but the sinning priest is the one who should be sacrificed.

"What you did to them has nearly Torn us all apart"

The community trusted the priest and now that the lie has been seen through the community is falling apart.

"The broken, how they cry They only gave you heart and mind How can you justify? They loved you Now father, don’t deny You took them like a sacrifice We finally know the truth about you"

Further supports my theory. The children (and their families) trusted the priest but he let them down by doing unholy things to them.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
