She gave it all, you gave her shit
She coulda done, just anything
Or anyone, 'cause she's a goddess
You never got this
You put her down, you liked her hopeless
To walk around, feeling unnoticed
You shoulda crowned her, 'cause she's a goddess
You never got this

Now you gotta deal with this glitch on your shoulder
Fucking with the goddess and you get a little colder
It's colder, colder
Fucking with the goddess, and you get a little colder

Finally surfaced above doubts
Feeling about this, you came around
'Cause she's a goddess, finally saw this
And now you're back, trying to claim her
'Cause she's gone and now without her
You all alone, 'cause she's a goddess
You shoulda saw this

Now you gotta deal with this glitch on your shoulder
Fucking with the goddess and you get a little colder
It's colder, colder
Fucking with the goddess, and you get a little colder

Now you gotta deal with this glitch on your shoulder
Fucking with the goddess and you get a little colder
It's colder, colder
Fucking with the goddess, and you get a little colder

Now you gotta deal with this glitch on your shoulder
You fucking with the goddess and you get a little colder
You're colder, colder (you're colder, colder)
You fucking with the goddess, and you get a little colder

    My Interpretation

I feel that this song is meant for an emotionally abusive ex to hear.

The girl, or goddess, was and is a beautiful, talented, loving woman who could have had her choice of any partner ("She coulda done, just anything Or anyone,"). The now-ex either felt threatened by her when he/she was with her, or just didn't realize how lucky he/she was to be with the goddess, and treated her horribly as a result due to his/her own insecurities, issues, and abusive nature.

The goddess was highly invested in the relationship, ("She gave it all,") yet the ex took not only couldn't appreciate her, but was cruel to boot ("You gave her shit"..."You put her down, you liked her hopeless, To walk around, feeling unnoticed") and actually enjoyed making her feel bad about herself and living with the light inside her dimmed, feeling depressed and invisible, perhaps lowering any perceived "risk" of losing her to another, better partner. This is a common abuse strategy: to lower her self-esteem so she thinks the abuser is the best she can get and no one else would want her, making her more likely to stay.

However, we see that the relationship ended, and now the ex finally understands how incredible the goddess is (maybe because now she has her spark back on account of being free from the abuse?) and is trying to win her back ("And now you're back, trying to claim her"). The ex regrets losing her and is now bitter, and must live with this feeling ("Now you gotta deal with this glitch on your shoulder.")

"Fucking with the goddess and you get a little colder" suggests to me that the abuse the ex doled out has killed off some of his/her own soul, so the ex becomes "colder" inside/personality-wise, and may even blame the goddess for leaving and for the problems in the relationship (common with abusive partners). Life is now 'colder' ("it's colder") for the ex due to the goddess's absence, as he/she is lonely, the bed is empty, and the sting of regret is hard to deal with.

This song could be extended to other emotionally abusive relationship types, too.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
