My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
You better run

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun

It started with the hayloft a-creakin'
Yeah, it just started in the hayloft
With his long johns on, Pop went a-creepin'
Out to the barn, out to the hay

Young lovers and they are not sleeping
Young lovers in the hayloft
With his gun turned on, Pop went a-creepin'
Out to the barn up to the hay

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
You better run

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun

Hayloft

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
You better run

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun

It started with the hayloft a-creakin'
Yeah, just started in the hay
With his long johns on, Pop went a-creepin'
Out to the barn, out to the hayloft

Young lovers with their legs tied up in knots
Young lovers with their legs tied up in knots
With his long tall gun, Pop went a-creepin'
To blow their hayloft bedheads straight off

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
You better run

My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun
My daddy's got a gun

My daddy's got a gun

    Song Meaning

Pardon me, English is not my first language.I kind of feel stupid reading all the other meanings, but here’s mine that I have had since I first heard it: A girl grows up in an abusive home and has to grow up too quickly. She can’t have her own life, her dad won’t like that and her siblings might get hurt . Ik “pop” is a nickname for dad, but I still sometimes think “pop” is her inner child, which had to disappear completely

    My Interpretation

I think this song is referencing an undercover psychopath's daughter warning her classmates or something not to come uninvited because of what she saw one night. "Young lovers and they are not sleeping" i wOnDEr wHAt thEY aRe doINg! I think it's pretty obvious that this verse is referring to teenagers or young adults "hitting it off" in what they think is an abandoned loft they can hide in to do their "business". Father probably hears rustling or something, and going to see who is trespassing, but the child heard it first and was watching him or whatever, and finds out that he is a psychopath that is also known as a serial killer. Also just speculation but I think the gun is a shot gun. "Long, tall gun"? Yup.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
