"Mecca" as written by and Christopher Robert Talbot Ben Little....
All we want is to feel that feeling again
Just a drop on the lips and we're more than equipped
There is some thirst that's gotta be quenched, yeah
All we want is to feel that feeling again
We didn't reach a high it was always inside
We just coaxed it from the place it would hide.

We move in fear, we move in desire
Now I know how you feel.
I'm a pilgrim, you're the shrine to
All the lovers that loved before us
And breathed in this ether.
Where the body goes the mind will follow soon after.

Cause all we want is to know the vivid moment
Yeah, how we feel now was felt by the ancients
Yeah, all we want is to know the vivid moment
Just surrender your limbs to my every whim
Now we're lovers, we are cartwheeling.

We move in fear, we move in desire
Now I know how you feel.
I'm a pilgrim, you're the shrine to
All the lovers that loved before us
And breathed in this ether.
Where the body goes the mind will follow soon after.

We've a Mecca now, weave a Mecca now, no less
To hold the other end of the thread. Hold on-

We move in fear, we move in desire
Now I know how you feel.
I'm a pilgrim, you're the shrine to
All the lovers that loved before us
And breathed in this ether.
Where the body goes the mind will follow soon after.

'Cause, all we want is to feel that feeling again,
Yeah, all we want is to feel that feeling again.

General CommentThis song is hauntingly beautiful. It parallels the spiritual journey - to Mecca - with our own individual journey for meaning and love.

Mecca; a holy city for Muslims; a place of pilgrimage, where every year millions journey from all corners of the Earth to reconnect with the divine. It's a journey that has taken place since the ancient.

We're all on this journey - seeking our own Mecca; seeking to feel connected to something, anything, other than ourselves.

It doesn't matter whether we felt it in another life, or in another time in this one. It is always so devastatingly familiar. We are constantly drawn to our Mecca. Searching for another taste of that ether.

To feel and to love is to be human. And this desire connects us not only to our Mecca but to the entire lineage of humanity.

But really what do I know? I'm just a broken hearted romantic. Truly? All I want is to feel that feeling again. Sometime I wish I didn't drop the thread. Alas - the journey continues again.
