(Intro)
Damn thats messed up yo
You call me ugly like that
Damn I find you beautiful no matter
How ugly you find me
Thats why I dedicate this song to you

(Chorus)
You say Im ugly
Who say Im Ugly
Dont wanna say (4 times)

(Verse 1)
Find you beautiful but you look at me and call me ugly
It makes me feel so bad inside and un-attractive
I suppose you look at me in the way of my big nose on my face
Or is it the way that my lips are big on my face
Or perhaps it can be my dark skin that you dont like
Or is it the way that I walk that makes you talk and call me ugly
Is it because I am short, or that my feet are skinny
Whatever the reason I would like to know
I suppose you think Im so ugly

(Chorus)
You say Im ugly
Who say Im Ugly
Dont wanna say (4 times)

(Verse2)
If you were a cripple and you ended up in a wheel chair
I would still love you and be there for you to share life with you
Because thats just the way how much I care
I suppose you can care about me as much as you can for your age
But what do I expect Im nearly two decades older
The winters and the nights they seem to get colder
As I spend them all by myself trying to hold on to someone as attractive
As you are its most impossible everyone wants to be with you
You can pick and choose and get who you want when you call me ugly
I know my chances are slim to none or their not strong
Thats why I sing this song to you

(Chorus)
You say Im ugly
Who say Im Ugly
Dont wanna say (6 times)

(Verse 4)
Find you beautiful but you look at me and call me ugly
It makes me feel so bad inside and un-attractive
I suppose you look at me in the way of my big nose on my face
Or is it the way that my lips are big on my face
Or perhaps it can be my dark skin that you dont like
Or is it the way that I walk that makes you talk and call me ugly
Is it because I am short, or that my feet are so skinny
Whatever the reason I would like to know
If you were a cripple I would stay by you
If you were in a wheel chair I would still care and love you
And share my life with you thats how much I care
I suppose you care as much as you can just for your age
What did I expect Im nearly two decades older than you
The winters and nights are colder trying to hold on to someone
As attractive as you are I suppose its impossible

(Chorus)
You say Im ugly
Who say Im Ugly
Dont wanna say (10 times)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
