"Towers" as written by Jamie Scott, Nicole Shortland, Henrik Michelsen and Edvard Erfjord....
You turn, and I learned that the wall comes falling down
Not a word, only hurt when my friends can tell me now
I feel loved when I see your face
But all these scars, I can't replace
Shock me high
Hit me hard, and I don't know what you say

When you knock on my door
And tell me you don't wanna fight
Oh, baby I'm sure that I'm not gonna fall this time
Oh

You never brought me flowers
Never held me in my darkest hours
And you left it so late that my heart feels nothing nothing in towers
Once we were made like towers
Everything could've been ours
But you left it too late now my heart feels nothing nothing at all

It's a shame
You're to blame
'Cause once you owned my heart
I remember feeling so high
But I'm right back at the start
I still feel loved when I see your face
But all these tears I can't erase
Sorry heart, I'm sorry heart
But we'll have to start again

So don't knock on my door and tell me you don't wanna fight
'Cause I heard it before
And I'm not going back this time
Not going back this time

You never brought me flowers
Never held me in my darkest hours
And you left it so late that my heart feels nothing nothing in towers
Once we were made like towers
Everything could've been ours
But you left it too late now my heart feels nothing nothing at all (oh oh oh)

Nothing at all (oh oh oh)

When you're close I wanna change my mind
But I remember you and what we're like
I don't wanna let you waste my time

And you never brought me flowers
Never held me in my darkest hours
And you left it so late that my heart feels nothing nothing at all

Once we were made like towers
Everything could've been ours
But you left it too late now my heart feels nothing nothing at all

Nothing at all
Nothing at all

Once we were built like towers
Nothing at all
We were built like towers
Now my heart feels nothing at all

My InterpretationTheir relationship had potential. It did. They could've been something more, but he ruined it. Now her heart is numb. She can't feel the pain anymore. She doesn't cry anymore, she's moved on.

General Commenti think the song is about a "relationship" that failed. It was more of a one sided thing, where one person tried harder than the other. the person trying to make it work ended up hurt.

My InterpretationThis song to me is that she is finally giving up on a relationship that she thought would have worked out in the beginning. She had hope that it would get better, but now she knows that it will not wok out.

My InterpretationTo me, this song tells the story of a relationship that started out normal, with potential and stability, like any other, but it starts to go downhill from there.

The girl is putting more effort into the relationship while the guy is just kind of there, not really contributing at all or making her feel special.

They go through a few break-ups because of this but somehow the girl always takes the guy back in the end when he shows up at her door and wants to go back to what they used to be.

But this time she is rejecting him, telling him that she feels 'nothing at all' and that she 'won't fall this time'
