"Just Another Girl" as written by Brandon Flowers, Dave Brent Keuning, Mark August Stoermer and Ronnie Jr. Vannucci....
Step out into the Indian dust
I can feel the cracks in my spirit
They're starting to bust

Drive by your house, nobody's home
I'm trying to tell myself that I'm better off alone

All of my friends say I should move on
She's just another girl, don't let her stick it to your heart so hard
And of all my friends say it wasn't meant to be
And it's a great big world, she's just another girl

I went to see a fortuneteller, that was a trip
Maybe this confusion's got me losing my grip
I can't believe you're out there flying with somebody else

Now Jason's getting married in the blink of an eye
I got an invitation but I didn't reply
Tell your little brother that we put down the gloves
And give him all of my love

All of my friends say I should move on
She's just another girl, don't let her stick it to your heart so hard
And all of my friends say it wasn't meant to be
And it's a great big world, she's just another girl

I could be reeling them in left and right
Something's got a hold on me, tonight
Well maybe all of my friends should confront
The fact that I don't want another girl

All of my friends say I should move on
All of my friends say
All of my friends say
All of my friends say
She's just another girl

Then why can't I sleep at night
And why don't the moon look right
The sounds up, the TV's on
And it's a great big world

She's just another girl,
Don't let her stick it to your heart, boy
She's just another girl
All of my friends say she's just another girl
Another girl

General CommentIts about a guy who loves a girl more than anything else in the world but sadly that love is not meant to be according to the girl. The guy knows that they both have something for each other and either of them are fooling each other. The guys friends tell him that she's not gonna be there and there are much better ones out there. But deep down his heart, he knows that she's the reason for his existence and the reason for him to go on. Sadly he knows that he can't do anything now and he just has to move on. It is the hardest thing he has ever done and he's trying hard to hide the pain from everyone but himself. He knows that what his friends say is true too. Nevertheless he continues to love her unconditionally without anyone knowing

General CommentWhile I don't disagree with the interpretations that this could be about Brandon Flowers' wife, to me it sure seems to be inspired by a girl he knew before he met her, and a continuation of sorts to the story he tells through "Mr. Brightside," "Miss Atomic Bomb" and "Runaways."

I also think it's interesting that Brandon is only shown singing one line in the video - "and give him all of my love" - referring to Jason, the girl's brother who's getting married. That seems to be a very personal touch, and wouldn't seem to refer to his brother-in-law, you know?

General CommentWell, the "girl leaves boy broken-hearted" is already a cliché with The Killers. Most singles of the band, if not all of them, were about such thing. However, with this band we must forget a little about the lyrics and focus on the music. It is always so full of, albeit the same, emotion that always look like if it was a completely new thing.

My InterpretationStep out into the Indian dust
I can feel the cracks in my spirit
    They're starting to bust

Drive by your house, nobody's home
I'm trying to tell myself that I'm better off alone

(To me, this seems like Brandon has been strong for so long, but its getting to him and he is starting to crack)

All of my friends say I should move on
She's just another girl, don't let her stick it to your heart so hard
And of all my friends say it wasn't meant to be
And it's a great big world, she's just another girl

(Chorus: Everyone is telling him 'theres plenty more fish in the sea' but he knows that there was a reason for this girl being in his life)

I went to see a fortuneteller, that was a trip
Maybe this confusion's got me losing my grip
I can't believe you're out there flying with somebody else

(The girl that Brandon thought he had such a connection has moved on so quickly, leaving him confused about the feelings they once had)

Now Jason's getting married in the blink of an eye
I got an invitation but I didn't reply
Tell your little brother that we put down the gloves
And give him all of my love

(Couldn't deal with seeing her again, after they have stopped fighting.)

I could be reeling them in left and right
Something's got a hold on me, tonight
Well maybe all of my friends should confront
The fact that I don't want another girl

(He knows that he is good looking and in the job that he does, many girls would be after fame, but he doesn't want anyone else than her, he knows she's 'the one')

Song MeaningThe Killers songs are so good because they usually depict a person's internal struggles.
This song is about a guy that is going through a breakup and his group of friends are trying to get him to get over her.
You can tell as the song goes on, the singer goes through from almost accepting the breakup ("I try to tell myself that I'm better off alone") and listening to his friends to having an internal struggle and saying that "Maybe all of my friends should confront the fact that I don't want another girl". Then towards the end of the song, he breaks down and says "...Then why can't I sleep at night..." and he's left with just heartbreak and his friends' words in his mind.
You can tell its already a breakup because in the middle of the song he says "I can't believe you're out there flying with somebody else". You can tell he's heartbroken because he mentions he "drive[s] by [her] house [and] nobody's home".

Song MeaningTo understand the meaning of the song, you have to look at the songwriter's perspective. Brandon Flowers is an attractive, famous, and extremely successful artist in Las Vegas. However, unlike most people in his profession, he is a married man, and a family man.

Many people in his position live a "rolling stone" type of lifestyle. It is typical for them to have a easy time sleeping around with very attractive women quite regularly, and just generally living a very pleasurable lifestyle with all that money and fame can get them. His friends are rather perplexed by his loyalty to one woman, and they frequently remind him of this, saying that he could "be reeling them in left and right," and sometimes he even questions whether it is worth all the effort.

Flowers lets his friends know that he doesn't want another girl, there is only one gal for him. And even when he travels, he misses her, because she has become part of who he is. He can't simply move on, it would tear his life apart.

The music video is also quite symbolic. It shows actress Dianna Agron walking around as if she were Brandon Flowers, moving her lips with his voice coming out. The scenes she walks through in the video symbolize the history of the band, and she is a symbol for his wife (they even made her look like his wife the best they could). His wife is in the place of him in the video as if to say "she has been with me through this whole thing, leaving her wouldn't even be possible: she is part of who I am."

So, frankly, I have to disagree with the last comment. I believe this song is a deep expression of loyalty from a man to his wife. I think it is also a message to the world that lasting relationships and family are a wonderful thing, even if many in popular culture say otherwise.
