Your eyes stare
Am I humble as I go
I'm holding in tight
To something long as I go
Am I humble as I go
I found a way
To look towards this day
But it all hooked up
This could only go one way
I'm not alive, I'm not alive without you
I'm not alive, I'm not alive without you

Love is to die, love is to not die, love is to dance
Love is to dance
Love is to die, love is to not die, love is to dance
Love is to dance

Come around, let's go found
There's no words to call
Tonight, you really see nothing of this girl
They work, they don't know the roots behind
'Cause I got a knife to cut out the memories
So carefully, too carefully, it's not necessarily
To be so dark
Got to give in, got to give in
Learn to align, last time older
Got to give in, got to give in
Learn to the five

Love is to die, love is to not die, love is to dance
Love is to dance
Love is to die, love is to not die, love is to dance
Love is to dance

Love is to die, why did you not die, why don't you dance
Why don't you dance and dance

    Song Meaning

This song is about the ups and downs of love, but in a very optimistic fashion. It's about the give and take, the compromises, the valleys, the highs.

The reason I think it's overall very optimistic is because of the last line "Love is to die, why did you not die", as if to say, "yes, that hurt, but we're okay, we didn't die and we love each other so...let's just dance."

The one line that bugs me that I have no clue about is "learn to the five"

"Learn to the five" is a direct relation to the five human senses, sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Our eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and skin. I guess you guys can relate that to the overall song meaning yourselves.

These lyrics are so horribly wrong, it's ridiculous. Many lyric sites have the wrong ones, but here is a site that has the correct lyrics including " Got to give in, Got to give in, Alert to the night, The last time I alter my mind, I give in Got to give in To the fight" Hope that clear up the song a bit for all you people trying to figure out the "five" part which she doesn't sing. genius.com/Warpaint-love-is-to-die-lyrics

    Song Fact

The link I posted earlier copied wrong, here is the correct one.. genius.com/Warpaint-love-is-to-die-lyrics and here are the correct lyrics:

All on my own Here I stand Am I humble am I ghost I'm on a limb to climb To something lawless I hope Am I humble am I ghost I'll find a way To look towards this day Got it all hooked up This could only go one way Oh oh oh oh oh I'm not alive I'm not alive enough

Love is to die Love is to not die Love is to dance Love is to dance and dance

All on my own It's confirmed There's no world to compromise You really see nothing of this girl They look, they don't know The roots behind Cuz I've got a knife To cut out the memories So carefully To carefully It's not necessary To be so dark

Got to give in Got to give in Alert to the night The last time I alter my mind I give in Got to give in To the fight

Love is to die Love is to not die Love is to dance Love is to dance and dance

Love is to die Love is to not die Love is to dance Love is to dance and dance

Love is to die Why don't you not die? Why don't you dance? Why don't you dance and dance?

It's a total longshot, but the "learn to the five" could be a reference to the enneagram type five, which fits with Warpaint in some ways.

It should be noted that the lyrics at the end should be "Love is to die, why don't you not die, why don't you dance", as opposed to "why did you not die"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
