"When the Darkness Comes" as written by and David Hall Hodges Colbie Marie Caillat....
Underneath the echoes
Buried in the shadows
There you were

Drawn into your mystery
I was just beginning
To see your ghost
But you must know

I'll be here waiting
Hoping, praying that
This light will guide you home
When you're feeling lost I'll leave my love
Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes

Now the door is open
The world I knew is broken
There's no return
Now my heart is not scared
Just knowing that you're out there
Watching me

So believe I'll be here waiting
Hoping, praying that
This light will guide you home
When you're feeling lost I'll leave my love
Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes

For when the darkness comes (oh oh oh)

Be here waiting
Hoping, praying that
This light will guide you home
When you're feeling lost I'll leave my love
Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes

Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes

My OpinionI think this song is basically explaining the end of the book and the movie 'The Mortal Instruments. at the end of the movie, he calls her a mundane. when she realizes she isn't a mundane, she goes after Jace. Jace tells Clary to take her time, he'll wait for her, implying something more. "I'll be here waiting, hoping praying, that, this light will guide you home, for when the darkness comes." so when they both feels lost about their feelings, they hope each others love will guide them back to each other.
