"I Kill Giants" as written by and Thomas B. Powers Alisa Xayalith....
The end of June came
And took you away
We were all crying
Felt like I was dying

Black dress & black shoes
Tied laces for you
The saddest of days
Why couldn’t we save you?

Inside my head
At the edge of the bed
Where somberness lay
In your children that day

As goodbyes are spent
Holding on to what’s left
The saddest of days
Why couldn’t we save you?

Nothing but ashes
In the old fire place
With all of the memories
He has erased

Heavier heels
His mourning concealed
On the saddest of days
Why couldn’t we save you?

General CommentAlisa has explained the meaning of this song through the band's facebook when the video was published:

"At first I felt insecure singing about something so infinitely painful and blatantly autobiographical. But now I'm more comfortable explaining that I Kill Giants is a song about losing my mum to breast cancer as a young girl. Thanks to Joel Kefali for directing such a beautiful video - Alisa"

    Song MeaningFrom the band:

I lost my mother when I was seven years old. ‘I Kill Giants’ is a reconstructed memory of this. I named it after a graphic novel by the same title. It parallels my story in many ways. – Alisa
