I'm giving you a nightcall
To tell you how I feel
I'm gonna drive you through the night
Down the hills
I'm gonna tell you something
You don't want to hear
I'm gonna show you where it's dumped
But have no fear

There's something inside you
It's hard to explain
There's something inside you boy
But you're still the same

I'm giving you a nightcall
To tell you how I feel
I'm gonna drive you through the night
Down the hills
I'm gonna tell you something
You don't want to hear
I'm gonna show you where it's dumped
But have no fear

There's something inside you
It's hard to explain
You're talking about you boy, but
You're still the same

Eh, yeah yeah
Tell you how
Tell you how
Tell you how, oh

I'm giving you a nightcall
To tell you how I feel
I'm gonna drive you through the night
Down the hills
I'm gonna tell you something
You don't want to hear
I'm giving you a nightcall
To tell you how I feel and how I feel

I think Nightcall can be interpreted as a breakup song. But I like to think of it as a completely different issue. It’s perhaps the most tortured feeling. It’s about two people who are in love but can’t be together. I think it’s perhaps a guy and a girl who are friends, but she’s going out with his best friend. Or brother. Or something. Neither of them want to hurt that person but inevitably they will because they both know they’re made for each other. Metal and Dust follows on from this: when the decision is made, it could be the death of all three relationships. The love and lust involved in all three will disappear.

    My Interpretation

I don't think this song is about breakup or an impossible relationship. To me it sounds like the speaker is showing the second person a dark secret she never showed anyone before"I'm gonna show you where i'ts dumped, but have no fear" The speaker is sure the other person will be shocked/frightened by what she is going to show him, but she also tells him not to be afraid. Why not? The phrase"but you're still the same" implies that, since there must be something different, the speaker has changed. It was a sudden realization, because she called him at night, it means it has to be something of vital importance which cannot wait till the next day. Now there is the question what caused the sudden realization of the speaker. There is the strange phrase"They're talking about you, boy, but you're still the same" So what the other people said about him made her notice her feelings towards him and that he is the only person she feels close enough to to let him know her secret. It might be a bit too far-fetched, but it could also be possible there were rumors of a crime he committed and she urgently needed to tell him she was the one who did it. However, she is telling him she loves him and wants him to accept her dark past which she now plans to leave behind.

    My Interpretation

It’s not “Night Call”, it’s “NightCall” (call associated with dread), is about toying with one's emotions, to invoke extreme lust. Don’t look towards the literal meaning of the words, instead pay attention to how they make you feel, it's essence, invocation of desire, through fear and anticipation of it.

It's an ingenious song, truly a master stroke ;)

It's a song about reincarnation. The feeling that you know someone before.

    Ominously beautiful song.

Im gonna tell you something you don't want to hear, I'm gonna show you where it's dumped but have no fear. I give LG much more credit than to imagine its about a body in the trunk, more willing to imagine that it's analogous of the inevitable unease.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
