We clawed, we chained, our hearts in vain
We jumped, never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell
A love no one could deny

Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can’t live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you

I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was break me
Yeah, you wreck me

I put you high up in the sky
And now, you’re not coming down
It slowly turned, you let me burn
And now, we’re ashes on the ground

Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can’t live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you

I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was break me

I came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung
Left me crouching in a blaze and fall
All you ever did was break me
Yeah, you wreck me

I never meant to start a war
I just wanted you to let me in
And instead of using force
I guess I should’ve let you in
I never meant to start a war
I just wanted you to let me in
I guess I should’ve let you in

Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you

I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was break me

I came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung
Left me crouching in a blaze and fall
All you ever did was break me
Yeah, you, you wreck me

Yeah, you, you wreck me

General Comment:This song is very straight foward and paints a very visual picture. She is saying this love was the first time she just jumped right in, without a second thought, and it wrecked her. It wrecked both of them.

General Comment:It sounds like an individual falling fast or someone, maybe the result of a one night stand. For whatever reason the two aren't on the same page and she's ready to commit but they aren't and then she's hurt. Possibly later on the other person is ready and now shes not which creates some animosity.Surprisingly a pretty good deep song.

General Comment:I believe Miley is trying to express her frustration about not being able to get through to her lover even after she "Came in like a wrecking ball".
She so desperately wants to knock down is walls (emotional walls).

Song Meaning:Okay, I do not think this is about Liam and her break up at all, their relationship was not this intense. I think they both knew that their relationship wasn't meant to be taken too far, it was purely for publicity. I think this is about her and the music industry. She is saying how she wanted the music industry to let her in, so she came in like a "wrecking ball" and used force (Twerk incident, drastic hair change, style change, juicy j) to try and make them let her in, since she started off as Hannah Montana her image was 'innocent', once she decided she wanted in the music industry her image was in the way, so she used force to change the worlds opinion on her, which worked, but in a bad way. She is being forced to do all of this stuff to change an unwanted image. She is saying that the music industry is wrecking her. She is doing what she loves, singing, and it hits her hard... it wrecks her image. So, my view on this song is that she is saying the music industry is wrecking her, and her way to try and force them to accept her is by "using force" and "coming in like a wrecking ball". basically to sum it up, Music industry rejects her, she comes back and wrecks them and "breaks their walls" aka the barrier of acceptance, and the music industry just comes right back and wrecks her again. XD yeah

My Interpretation:To me it sounds like she fell hard for someone but the relationship was emotionally unstable and unequal. She was definitely putting more into it than he was yet she had so many expectations toward him. "I put you high up in the sky" and we all know not to expect too much from guys, because one, not to offend any guys that may be around, but it does usually take them longer to get emotionally attached than it does for a girl. You can't rush them or you'll only be left disappointed. And when she said "All I wanted was to break your walls" or the line "I just wanted you to let me in" She desperately wanted him to feel the same way she did for him. She wanted him to open up to her emotionally but she went about it the wrong way. I think the wrecking ball is a metaphor for rushing things, or forcing feelings that may never even grow in the first place. Feelings need to be allowed time to develop and by her "using force" or coming on too strong, it only led to destruction in the end.

It's quite similar to my own relationship. We're emotionally unequal at the moment and I'm trying my best to be patient with him rather than trying to rush or scare him off. Ladies, let her song be a lesson or a warning to you for your men. They need to be given time so that you may grow not only together but as individuals. It's agonizing, yes, when you feel strongly for someone and you want them to feel the same way but it takes time and if those feelings don't develop than perhaps it's time to move on. However, the mistake that Miley made is she tried to force it on him or rush him. And no one wants to be in love all by themselves, believe me it's the worst feeling ever.

I could be totally wrong but this is my personal interpretation. And everyone has their own opinions but this one holds true for me:)

My Interpretation:This song is obviously about a relationship, most likely one coming to an end.
It starts with two people meeting and falling head over heels with each other without hesitation. Eventually problems developed and fights began and by the second verse it sounds like she knows the relationship should end but loves him so much, that she's holding on with everything she has; "I put you high up in the sky and now you're not coming down". The next line "It slowly turned, you let me burn and now we're ashes on the ground" shows that maybe he wasn't putting in as much effort into fixing things. She wanted to make the relationship work despite the doubts and he kind of just let things fall apart. "Don't you ever say I just walked away", is her telling him 'I really tried. Don't act like I gave up so easy because I really loved you, but I can't anymore'. The chorus really gets to the chore of their problems, as well as the bridge. All she wanted was for him to open up and let down his walls with her but he always kept his guard up. When she finally let him in all he did was put her down and "wreck her". But she's also realizing that maybe she wasn't as open with her feelings as she could've been, "I never meant to start a war/ I just wanted you to let me in/ And instead of using force/ I guess I should have let you in". Instead of always fighting with him about why he never showed emotion, she should have opened up about her feelings instead of starting an argument.
In the end the song is about a couple who could never fully open up to each other and knock down their walls. I actually love this song and think Miley did really well with it.

General Comment:We clawed, we chained, our hearts in vain
    We jumped, never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell
A love no one could deny
(They hurt each other. When first time when they met, they fall in love,a love who everyone could se)

Don’t you ever say I just walked away
    I will always want you
I can’t live a lie, running for my life
    I will always want you
(the line "don't you ever say i just walked away",think she didn't want to listen him, because she will trust him.And she doesn't wanna do ruin her live because of lie).

I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was break me
    Yeah, you wreck me
(She was never hurt when she falls in love with somebody)

I put you high up in the sky
And now, you’re not coming down
It slowly turned, you let me burn
And now, we’re ashes on the ground
(She was blind, and now she is hurt because of it.She is break. And now they break up)

I came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung
Left me crouching in a blaze and fall
All you ever did was break me
    Yeah, you wreck me
(I think when she says"I came in like wrecking ball",she maybe think that when first time they met she was lost. When she found that he been lying to her,she was break. All he did is breaker her,and she was weak because of it).

General Comment:She fell hard and was completely infatuated and smitten with her mate, but the relationship was not equal emotionally, she says I can't live a lie running for my life, all you ever did was wreck me, more than likely the relationship was always up/down, make/up break/up, lies, promises, innuendos and constant chaos and heartbreak trying to justify these feelings they had with each other but she was in it stronger than him and he probably took advantage and toyed with her heart at times, I suspect he did what so many ppl do when someone falls hard for them, they pretend to be all in just enough to keep you but are still being single otherwise, her new identity is her acting out due to the pain from the relationship and break up.

General Comment:I doubt very much the lyrics pertain to any relationship Miley had as it was written by MoZella, Stephan Moccio, Sacha Skarbek, Dr. Luke and Cirkut.
