Lord my path has gone astray
I'm just trying to find my way
Wandered here from far away
I'm just trying to find my way

You were never meant to see
All those things inside of me
Now that you have gone away
I'm just trying to find my way

I have made a great mistake
Pray the Lord my soul to take
The ghosts of who I used to be
I can feel them come for me
Looks as though they're here to stay
I'm just trying to find my way

Please
I never meant to
I never meant for this

I have been to every place
I have been to everywhere
I'm just trying to find my way
Oh dear Lord hear my prayer

General CommentThis song is about Trents past. What he done, said, tried, believe. About mistakes what he's done. About his long way here, what he is now.

General CommentI relate to this song, like most NIN songs, so I figured I'd post my thoughts.
I was raised catholic. I turned myself away from religion in my teenage years. Teen angst, experimentation, pleasures.. All seemingly routes of "escape" from the idea of myself "under god", maybe. Attempts to find a better or more genuine frame of mind, and find out the truth through experience. Sinning and ignorance, wih unmentioned pure intentions. Eventually though after everything I began praying to god. It feels right. Now that it is by my own will, to my own creation or interpretation. My belief that all of this is far too perfect to be what it may seem to be sometimes. Anyways, instead of going on about my relgion. This song is very familiar, it sounds like my prayers.

This seems like a sincere prayer to god.
This song adds dimension to Trents creation that is NIN.

General CommentTrent has been through quite a lot in his life. He followed his downward spiral and pushed through, he went on to new paths-like becoming a father.
This song speaks of experience, from a very soulful person.
I too feel this song is really easy to relate to myself. If you've ever been spiritual in your life but find yourself lost from it and out of touch with where your life is headed- you get it.

General CommentI don't think this is just in regards to his past and the choices he made. I think it has a lot to do with his illuminati and Satanist ties. Think more literally when looking at these lyrics.

He has gone astray but has no choice at this point. He stopped touring and was pulled back in for a satanic grammy's performance. He could be lamenting over his seemingly unchangeable present circumstances.
