"Snap Out Of It" as written by and Alex Turner....
What's been happening in your world?
What have you been up to?
I heard that you fell in love
Or near enough
I gotta tell you the truth…

I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
If that watch don't continue to swing or the fat lady fancies having a sing
I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to
Snap out of it

Forever isn't for everyone
Is forever for you?
It sounds like settling down or giving up
But it don't sound much like you girl

I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
If that watch don't continue to swing or the fat lady fancies having a sing
I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to
Snap out of it

Under a spell you're hypnotized
Darling how could you be so blind?
(Snap out of it)
Under a spell you're hypnotized
Darling how could you be so blind?

I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby
Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
If that watch don't continue to swing or the fat lady fancies having a sing
I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to
Snap out of it

My InterpretationSounds like it's about hearing that an ex girlfriend has fallen in love and hoping it won't last because you don't want to lose her for good.

My InterpretationWhile listening to the song I'd might agree with stellarabella's comment that an ex girlfriend has fallen in love..... Though it seems to me that Alex Turner wrote and is addressing this song to himself, in some way he's saying to himself to snap out of it, since he has fallen deeply love. Following the continuing pattern of the album "Do I want to be yours? Are you mine? I wanna be yours! Be with you forever. Is forever for everyone?" and taking in consideration the catchy, almost pop, rhythm of the song this the part in the record where the message is clear: it happened, it's over, move on.

My InterpretationI think he's written this song to encourage an ex girlfriend to move on. It seems like he values her as a friend and wants to continue knowing her, but things are still in a difficult place for them. He just wants to talk to her again.

    "Under a spell you're hypnotized"
The general belief that it's impossible to rekindle their friendship without sexual tension existing. He's into the idea of starting fresh. Why can't she be?

Although it's easy to say one thing, the general theme of the album would lead one to believe he himself doesn't know exactly what he wants from the girl.

Song MeaningThe song is about a girl falling in love because he wasnt good enough, but he know that deep inside she still loves him and he does his point to prove it like in the music video in the studio he proves that he is improving which makes her fall in love more

General CommentIt's a song written from a woman's perspective (a woman singing), sung by a man. The notes and tempo give away it's a "different voice" to the other tracks on the album. He's a drunk most of the time, she's asking him to give it up and she'll be waiting. They're at the point in the relationship where she still wants him, and will wait, and it goes back and forth, but he's dragging his feet thinking he can have both.

    My InterpretationHere's a thought:
In the video, the woman is seen watching a video tape of herself kissing the camera lens, which i suspect is being held by her now ex. This could mean, as opposed to her being in love with someone new after her ex, that she is in fact still in love with her ex and he wants her to move on as he has. As in, "our love is over, darling, snap out of it".

My InterpretationI think that he's not talking about an ex girlfriend, but he's actual girlfriend.
Like they're dating or hooking up and she falls in love, but he only want to have fun.
"It sounds like settling down or giving up / But it don't sound much like you girl" It seems like he's talking about a girl who never falls in love, but has fallen this time; and as if Alex is the guy that always falls in love but now he didn't. And he's saying "Under a spell you're hypnotized / Darling how could you be so blind?" as she's "blind" to think that he could love her back.

    //
Also, I don't think that anyone has ever seen those lyrics in this way but he could be referring to a fangirl, you can easily see the similarities in the video; a normal girl who sees a band guy in the TV and falls in love with him, and she starts to cry because she knows that he'll never be hers and at the same time she's happy for him because she loves him and he's living the dream.
I don't know how I came to think in this way but it's obvious that after "Suck It & See" Arctic Monkeys started to have a new kind of public, the same public that likes One Direction and all these bands, that call themselves fanbases and have their favourite band member n stuff, and it seems like Alex doesn't like that new public, seems like he wants the old public back; like he wants the public that care about their music only, and not about how they look like and their personal lives. So he's saying "I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake baby, Snap out of it." Like he's asking the new fans to stop caring about shit and only enjoy the music.

Song MeaningBefore I read the other ones (and I've only listened to a few songs on this album), I thought that he was saying like I heard you're in love, but you're not the type of girl who settles down like what's happening to you? And he's just waiting for her to realize that this isn't what she really wants. He could be saying this as a friend, ex, or possibly an ex who wants to get back together, or as a friend tryinfg to get together and who is jealous a little.
